Guest jscotl Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 When I receive a new SMS, I get the envelope at the top of the screen , but the line that shows SMS, MMS, email does not change. What is the point of that line on the home page? :? Also, I've noticed that incoming SMS do not arrive showing the name of the sender unless I hold their SMS No. in the +4412345678 format (ie. Country & no spaces) Is this normal? Finally, how do I place a personal foto onto the Home page without using the IA Album software? Regards, James S
Guest JoelRae Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Hi James, Hmm, home page message prob doesn't sound normal ... dunno if anyone else has heard of that one :? The +44 requirement for messages to show sender details is just something we all have to put up with, you can get a contact reformatter to help here ... as well as tonnes of other useful goodies 8) As for the personal photo's, see this post, basically you just make a 176*180 pic then hotsync your phone and put the pic in IPSM>Application Data>Home then you can select it as your background in the Home Screen settings bit Hope this helps, Joel
Guest martin Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 When I receive a new SMS, I get the envelope at the top of the screen , but the line that shows SMS, MMS, email does not change. I'm not 100% sure but I remember I used to get a symbol (on another phone) when there were too many text messages in storage. Try checking all the folders and delete some of them and see if that helps. Have you checked your IPSM files recently?
Guest jscotl Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Martin, Not sure what you mean by IPSM files  There's only 2 SMS msgs on the fone, could there be some ghosts ? :? Initially, I did setup a sync with my Outlook inbox & the SPV now has a copy of the inbox + sub-folders. (There are all empty, but I don't know how to delete the folders) Could this be causing the Home Page prob?) Regards, James S
Guest vijay555 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Try importing messages from your sim, to make sure that's all synced. Someone suggested once, i think, that one of the homescreens (MS or Orange, i forget which) functions more accurately than the other, so what homescreen are you using? have you tried some thirdparty ones? Try midnight's homescreens and see if they work ok. Try clearing out your MAPI folder as well, in case something's lingering in there that's FUBAR. Check the old coolsmartphone site for tips on speeding up your phone, which explains this, or search the board (i've left my phone at home  so i can't help off the top of my head) V
