Guest gregbarton Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 my spv's screen has broke with a like water mark on it! but it has been nowhere near water of more than spots of rain! Its not on contact and i dont have orange care or nothing but what would be the best way of going about getting it fixed??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 The only way if you don't have Orange Care is to return the phone to the manufacturer, Orange can give you more details. Be warned though, you could be without the phone for over two weeks while it's being repaired
Guest squall Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 orange care has an emergancy policy though £60 i think then £5 a month for a year or until the end of your contract, with orange care you wound get a next day replacement.
Guest midnight Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 orange emergency insurance is £30 then a fiver a month (normal insurance cost), which is well worth it if you ask me, i buggered up my screen by accidentally kneeling on the phone, replacement coming tomorrow
Guest the loc-man Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 can you tell me a little more about the orange emergency care please. I have had my SPV for 3 weeks and was going to get the orange care(£5 a month) because of the screen. what is the emergency care and how do you use it? is it for accidental damge as well cheers LOC
Guest squall Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 first thing to do is contact orange on 150, if its a new phone and you havent dropped it etc, then its likely to be some kind of manufacture defect, orange will replace it for free under the warrenty. if its something you have done, or isnt covered by the warrenty for some reason orange care is the way to go if you want a replacement, ask about it when your on the phone to 150 if you arent getting anywhere with the warrenty replacement. Basically you pay £30 up front (used to be £60 i think) then report the fault. you should recieve a new phone the next day, however you are tied to paying the £5 a month subscription charge until the end of your contract or for 1 year. Normally there is no up front fee, but since you are deffently going to claim then they add it on. If there is nothing wrong with your phone you can take orange care up at any time for £5 a month.
Guest the loc-man Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 sorry what I meant is that there is nothing wrong with the SPV yet, but because of the risk of damaging the screen I thought about care, until I heard about EM care. if I join orange care can I cancel before minimum 12months if I cancel my contract with orange? whats the best way to go? orange care, orange EM care or nothing? does it cover accidental damage? ie if my daughter drops it and smashes the screen for example? thx for the help LOC
Guest gregbarton Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 my screen has got some black spots on it and then just has random lines of colour which are growing in number day by day
Guest gregbarton Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 would i be able to get it repaired for free? but i have no proof of purchase!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 The only way to maybe getting it repaired for free (as you say you have no proof of purchase) would be to send it to the HTC or one of their approved agents depending where in the world you are. I presume you are in the UK so your first port of call would be to talk to Orange for advicecontact details.
