Guest Machineman Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Hi, I was wondering if there is such a prog as excel 4 the spv anyone who knows??? CU
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Not at the moment, but I wish there was as it would save me carrying my ppc around
Guest Vector Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Awhile ago i heard that a company had word, excel viewers etc. in developement, or was that just rumours ?
Guest trouble Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Awhile ago i heard that a company had word, excel viewers etc. in developement, or was that just rumours ? repligo
Guest spacemonkey Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Repligo is just a viewer tho... it is really good for that purpose, but for excel I think being able to edit the spreadsheet, have it do formulas and stuff is a vital feature, which unfortunately repligo doesn't have.
Guest Thurstan Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 By the way, and you lot probably know it but Machineman might not, Repligo for Smartphone is already available. http://www.repligo.com/ It's worth having if youcan manage by just viewing Office documents on your SPV until a proper editor comes out. Will ClearVue do this?
Guest Machineman Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 The thing is I do not need a viewer just the prog but I got the notice that that is not yet availble. I hope soon 'cause that is something I use a lot!! CU m8's
Guest James Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 just to bare in mind that its not a real viewer... yo have to convert the documents on a normal pc first
Guest BrAGoL Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 so, is there really a viewer for office documents yet?
Guest siu99spj Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 so, is there really a viewer for office documents yet? In a word, no. However, Repligo, as other people have said, released somethng which allows you to convert the file on a PC which can then be transferred to the phone and read. But as said, the problem is that you HAVE to convert it on a PC, you can't view them on your phone directly.
Guest BrAGoL Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 a little messy thing to do huh... anyways, thanks for the info...
Guest nickcornaglia Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 ClearVue by Westtek will allow you to view Word, Excel, PDF, PPT and Images on your smartphone without any conversion. This is really really cool because it will allow you to view attachments right from your phone without any conversion. No editing though...just a viewer. Arne Hess has a preview HERE.
Guest Machineman Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 Hi m8's, Looks great :) but I would prefer a trial version to see if it realy works 4 me. But I could not find it on the site. Cu m8's
Guest m Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 I need to develop a simple program for my students, like their attendence, grades and stuff. You think: - is there any program out there allreday for this pupose? - any program yet to convert excel files? - any program free or minimum price? thanks,
Guest humz Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I really cant understand why an Exel Editor hasn't been made yet. I only really bought my SPV in the first place because I thought it would have Excel as standard, being a Microsoft product I thought this would go without saying. But instead of creating useful products, people seem far more interested in creating different versions of exactly the same program. How many different Phone Explorers do we have to have? How many photo caller id programs? How many versions of chess? Come on programmers, stop making gimmicks and do something useful.
Guest mariolouis Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 with clearvue, office documents attached to an email can be viewed instantly.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 If you have Java enabled you could try MicroCalc. I know it works on the 7650s and P800s. It's the only spreadsheet editor I know of that works for Smartphones WapIndustrial MicroCalc Bear in mind: There is some sort of conversion process involved (not sure what), and spreadsheets in MicroCalc are not individual files
Guest Machineman Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Hi there, I tried to get this working for a while but it seems not to work. Has anybody got it to work? let me know please  Cu M8's :!:
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Sorry, haven't tried it on the SPV, and havent got the Java stuff installed yet!
Guest Machineman Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I don't even know how to in stall the java applet If I understood it right it should be on the sun.com site but can not find it. Cu M8;-)
Guest jackofall Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Hi m8's, Looks great ;) but I would prefer a trial version to see if it realy works 4 me. But I could not find it on the site. Cu m8's you can get the trial version here
Guest mwille Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I need to develop a simple program for my students, like their attendence, grades and stuff. You think: - is there any program out there allreday for this pupose? - any program yet to convert excel files? - any program free or minimum price? thanks, Sybase makes some stuff (for ppc and Smartphone) with which you can create your own database and add records to it on you device.. Might do the trick for collecting the data concerning your students.. Syware Homepage I haven't really look around there yet so you'll have to figure out what you need youself ;) Edit : Just had a look and I think its Syware FoneDB you want : Syware FoneDB
Guest fozzie Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I only really bought my SPV in the first place because I thought it would have Excel as standard,.... Really? That's one heck of a mistake to make then. I can't believe that anyone would buy a phone 'thinking' that it would have some very specific functionality without actually checking. If it's Excel functionality that you're after, I don't think you'll find it with either ClearVue or Repligo - they're essentially viewers.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I believe this app allows input/editing of spreadsheet entries ? ...Take a look at the screenshots.spreadsheet.gif
