Guest ClintEastman Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 NEW YORK—Sony Ericcson said that 25,000 of its mobile phones were stolen from the John F. Kennedy Airport Thursday night. “What the thieves did not know is that they were dummy display phones,” said Andrea Iraheta, spokeswoman for the company. The phones, which were stacked next to “valuable pharmaceutical products,” were designed for promotions. Iraheta said that had the display phones been actual handsets, the loss would be $5 million. There gona be pissed when thay get them home!!!!
Guest DamianJauregui Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 They probably the best kind of SonyEricsson handsets that you can get. It saves the disappointment that you feel when they do actually work.
Guest nobznss Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 That has got to be the funniest thing I've ever heard!!! Leave it to American's to steal fake phones.
Guest tbrose Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 The thing is that the dummies are actually hella expensive aswell!!! I work in an electronics store, and some of the dummies are even more expensive than the real phone itself!
Guest idavid Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 if they are more expensive, why on earth do they bother with them in the first place???
Guest tbrose Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I have no clue! I've asked the the guy from Ericsson that one time he visited our store, and he just said that they don't want the thieves to actually get a real phone. But as I mentioned, it's only some of the phones where the dummy is more expensive than the real phone! - ie. this is of course not the case with the P800...
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Who else can see these appearing on eBay?!
