Guest Simon Desser Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Just browsing around on Smartphone Development Network, and found this! It was written in April 2002. Now I have to admit I don't know the first thing about programming, but how come an Alarm Clock like this has never come to light, it actually looks quite useful :?:
Guest Martin@Home Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Nice ! Wouldn't take much putting together by some of the forum eggheads !
Guest Brody Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 I've never seen this but it looks like the answer to a lot of people's questions don't u think (I haven't looked at it in that much depth but multiple alarms along with the ability to customise their occurance sounds promising!)
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 There's also instructions on porting a Registry Viewer, and the game Snake. We've already got these two, but we still havn't got a "decent" alarm clock :?
Guest JoelRae Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Yeah, this app would be great, I'm not sure why they haven't posted the final product at the end  ... must admit didn't read it all, too much code makes my eyes feel funny
Guest Richie M Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I am working on a Modified version of this, the one on Smartphonedn has quite a few bugs in it  But i have fixed them and tweaking a few things
Guest SirGaz Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 So when is it going to see the light of day Richie? I've been waiting for a proper alarm app since I got the phone.
Guest vijay555 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 can't listpro do alarms? i've got it but haven't used it, but it's got an exe listproalarms or something, and the PocketPC version could. V
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Moved to Software forum. I deliberated over whether it should go in "Development", "Software" or "Wishlist", and in the end I thought sod it, and put it in "Main" :!:
Guest StylishLemur Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 WAITING WAITING
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah maybe dev would have been a little more appropriate, nm. It'll do here now, and provides a base thread for Richies release ;p
Guest Richie M Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 hhhmm cheers Monolithix. So far i have 1 bug to fix and 1 feature to implement - but as i only develop this when i get spare time the going is quite slow :D But i have had to start re-coding it to get it to work properly  All i can say is be patient
Guest JoelRae Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Cool, cheers Richie  I'd offer to help, but wouldn't have a clue how :?

I'd be happy to spend a couple of hours poking around the code

Guest Simon Desser Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 I am working on a Modified version of this, the one on Smartphonedn has quite a few bugs in it  But i have fixed them and tweaking a few things :) Sorry to pester :o Any news on this Richie :?:
Guest Richie M Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 hehe, had almost forgot about this - it works and everything but the only problem is the app has to run in the background for the alarm to go off :? which doesnt make it to user friendly :/ cos if the phone gets turned off and back on or the app gets killed it will stop the alarm! Therefore i still need to recode the timer routine - but i had put this near the bottom of "things to do" maybe its time i promoted this in the list :)
Guest fozzie Posted July 31, 2003 Report Posted July 31, 2003 mcTraveller has got a great alarm - multiple alarms & very configurable (sounds, repeats, snooze etc) :) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest FrankyG Posted August 1, 2003 Report Posted August 1, 2003 hehe, had almost forgot about this - it works and everything but the only problem is the app has to run in the background for the alarm to go off :? which doesnt make it to user friendly :/ cos if the phone gets turned off and back on or the app gets killed it will stop the alarm!Couldn't it work the way PcoketCandy does, using a config app and the deamon which is placed in the startup folder? Just a thought...
Guest I. C. Monsters Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Has this thread dried up altogether? Any updates on this app? Since owning my first SPV I've been waiting for a decent alarm clock app. This had so much promise. I. C. Monsters
Guest Brody Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 I'm almost done with my brand new alarm application for Windows Mobile 2003 onwards, keep your eyes peeled to www.MSMobileNews.com in the next few weeks, it'll be there!
