Just browsing around on Smartphone Development Network, and found this! It was written in April 2002. Now I have to admit I don't know the first thing about programming, but how come an Alarm Clock like this has never come to light, it actually looks quite useful :?:

Nice !

Wouldn't take much putting together by some of the forum eggheads !

I've never seen this but it looks like the answer to a lot of people's questions don't u think (I haven't looked at it in that much depth but multiple alarms along with the ability to customise their occurance sounds promising!)

There's also instructions on porting a Registry Viewer, and the game Snake. We've already got these two, but we still havn't got a "decent" alarm clock :?

Yeah, this app would be great, I'm not sure why they haven't posted the final product at the end  ... must admit didn't read it all, too much code makes my eyes feel funny

I am working on a Modified version of this, the one on Smartphonedn has quite a few bugs in it

But i have fixed them and tweaking a few things

So when is it going to see the light of day Richie? I've been waiting for a proper alarm app since I got the phone.

can't listpro do alarms?

i've got it but haven't used it, but it's got an exe listproalarms or something, and the PocketPC version could.

Moved to Software forum.

I deliberated over whether it should go in "Development", "Software" or "Wishlist", and in the end I thought sod it, and put it in "Main" :!:

Yeah maybe dev would have been a little more appropriate, nm. It'll do here now, and provides a base thread for Richies release ;p

hhhmm cheers Monolithix.

So far i have 1 bug to fix and 1 feature to implement - but as i only develop this when i get spare time the going is quite slow :D

But i have had to start re-coding it to get it to work properly

All i can say is be patient

Richie, if you want a hand/another pair of eyes to spot some bugs or anything, give me a yell... I'd be happy to spend a couple of hours poking around the code

hehe, had almost forgot about this - it works and everything but the only problem is the app has to run in the background for the alarm to go off :? which doesnt make it to user friendly :/ cos if the phone gets turned off and back on or the app gets killed it will stop the alarm!

Therefore i still need to recode the timer routine - but i had put this near the bottom of "things to do" maybe its time i promoted this in the list :)

mcTraveller has got a great alarm - multiple alarms & very configurable (sounds,

repeats, snooze etc) :)

Couldn't it work the way PcoketCandy does, using a config app and the deamon which is placed in the startup folder? Just a thought...

Has this thread dried up altogether? Any updates on this app? Since owning my first SPV I've been waiting for a decent alarm clock app. This had so much promise.
