Guest DarrenJ Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 Hi my SPV wont register the explorer program. Im a noob with this phone and really could use some help. It also just froze, I hope taking battery off is ok as nothing will work?
Guest nobznss Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 What do you mean it won't register the program? How did it lock? Could you not do anything or was there a cycling circle in the center that just wouldn't stop?
Guest DarrenJ Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 i select Programs, all-explorer SPE and it prompts me about Prodcut activation. I then choose Menu, 1 automatic. Circle turns for a while and it prompts me for name and email which i fill in and click next....it hangs and then says unsuccessful. it mentions about details from when i bought it ????? it came on media card with phone ?? yeah circle froze and no keys would work , had to take battery off...seems real slow now
Guest nobznss Posted June 16, 2003 Report Posted June 16, 2003 That sounds weird. Is the phone de-certified? If it is, try another program for file exploring like Smart Explorer. You can download it at this URL: http://www.monolithix.org/SPV_software.html Hopefully that works, and you don't need AllExplorer at all.
Guest JoelRae Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah, I remember when I first got my SPV trying to install all-explorer and having problems ... in the end I emailed the developers and they sent me a PC installer that worked fine. To be honest though, you'd be much better doing the OTA unlock (presuming you've got an Orange phone) and installing smart explorer
Guest nobznss Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Ya amen Joel. I kinda like Smart Explorer a little better than All Explorer anyway.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 All-Explorer needs an active GPRS session for auto-registration to work
Guest JoelRae Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Yeah, I tried to auto-activate through a pass-through connection and it claimed to have worked but then quit and when I reloaded the app it was back at the registration screen ... dunno, maybe I was making a stupid mistake back in my newb days
Guest capt_janeway Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 I could never register Allexplorer via my SPV even with GPRS connected - and I agree Smart Explorer is far better
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 If you have any more difficulties (especially if you've already bought it) you can manually register at the all-locations website.
Guest Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 it mentions about details from when i bought it ????? it came on media card with phone ?? The version on the SD card that comes with the phone is a trial, to get the full version you have to buy it through thier website. I also recomend doing an OTA and getting Smart Explorer, much easier.
