Guest Jockstar31 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Have tried everything but no luck. Got my smartphone at Christmas (long time ago) and still have not been able to unlock it. It has been updated and have tried the Orange de-cert method and the old method but to no avail. When on the Orange website I keep getting a blank screen when clicking on the link. Tried the various options to get over this BUT STILL NO LUCK - anyone out there - please help!!!
Guest Brody Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Are u running Norton Firewall? Disable it and try again...
Guest vijay555 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Try a different computer or browser, clean your cache and press f5 when loading the page. i've decerted 100s of times, but this weekend i had a lot of trouble getting the page to load. it won't browse thru spv either  http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx V
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 As Brody said the Orange Developers site uses popups and Firewalls etc can block you from viewing them. Norton Firewall is a well known app for preventing viewing of certain types of webpages. Let us know how you get on.
Guest squall Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 also go into internet options and delete cookies and temp internet files. i also lowered the security level's to the lowest. if you do that just remeber to put them back up.
Guest Jockstar31 Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Thanks for replies guys. Tried everything that you suggested. Even used someone elses computer. Still no luck. Could it be that Orange have caught on to everyone de-certing their phone to stop using non cert software. It's all a conspiracy !!!!! Anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Guest dmmh Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 serious question: why would you wanne undo the de-certification process anyway? I just got mine yesterday, and wanted to install some uncertified software so I used Orange's page for developers to get rid of the certification check. Why would I wanne/ should I switch it on again?
Guest nickcornaglia Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Noooooooooooooo. Then you wont be able to use the uncertified software you just installed! The lock/unlock orange site was meant for developers to test out their software pre-certification. But it was probably leaked to the masses intentionally! Wink Wink.
Guest dmmh Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 I am aware I wont be able to use it then doh  I am just wondering why some people turn certification check back on again? I read that somewhere here. developers?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Developers may want to test their app has been successfully signed.
