Guest Folken Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Hi all, I just realized that all the programs i choose to set up on my 256MB SD Card instead of the phone itself don't appear in the "remove programs" part of the settings folder... All the ones installed on the phone are there, just the ones installed on the SD Card are missing. Everything went fine during their install process, they just don't appear in there, thus cannot be properly uninstalled.. Anyone else noticed such a bug..? Have a nice day, Folken.
Guest Bonzo Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Nope... all the programs I install either on the phone or SD card are all listed there... but I'm guessing what has happened is the install/un-install information folder hasn't been written to the phone... if U look in the IPSMWindowsAppMgr folder there should be a folder for each program installed... removing these folders or just plain not having them there means they don't show in the 'Remove Programs' screen... I'm guessing there won't be any folders for those programs U have installed to the SD card in there!!!
Guest James Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 try installing one of them again mate. i have never heard of this problem before. is the sd card locked
Guest Folken Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Bonzo : the IPSMWindowsAppMgr is absolutely and definitely... empty (!) in my SPV (all the apps installed on the phone appear in the "remove programs" though... o_O) jlowap : I tried that... Same result each time.. And it does the same with both my SD Cards (the 8MB Orange one and my 256MB SanDisk. Both unlocked of course). Looks like i'm doomed.. lol Anyway thanx for both your answers. Folken.
Guest Simon Desser Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Try the "add/remove programs" in ActiveSync rather than doing it directly on the phone? If all else fails you could manually delete the relevant program files and shortcuts?
Guest James Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 just a thought, its not storing the uninstall info on the storage card by mistake? might of created an appmgr dir on there
