This is the reference design of the SmartPhone.

Wow... That is old!

The actual unit doesn't look that way anymore... the antenna has been redesigned, the colors are no longer the colors of the rainbow and the buttons are no longer of that color...

You might want to see the Sendo version of the Smartphone--the Z100. This is what Orange of UK was supposed to have until they had a "fight" with Sendo and opted for the HTC (of Taiwan) version.

The Mio has a very good design. I personally favor clam shell phones because they become small when closed and both the keypad and screen are protected when the phone is in your pocket even without a case. I wouldn't mind the small antenna protruding from the unit.

With a clam shell design, there are no compromises in both the keypad area and screen size.

I heard (read actually) that the Mio is making waves in Taiwan already. If and when that will be available here, I might have my SAP traded.

and the mio8380...which they said in the other forum, is avaiable now (?)

The pic at the bottom is the old design, I think the new keypad looks less booring or old.

And this is the actual unit ppcsurfr is probably referring to (i think).

Well, that is still the old design...

The new one has a smaller, more standard antenna and the main command keys are chrome.

The Joystick protrudes more and is no longer a d-pad but a real joystick like the HTC Tanager's... the AR11's joystick is also more responsive... it has better resistance and tactile feedback.
