Bit of a nightmare but with your wonderful help i seem to have got wap sorted out. Then did a broadband pass through connection on my pc and put in a few web sites i new and they came up on the screen a pretty much as my pc so saved to favourites. Disconected and the tried wap by phone again connected everything ok then tried the web sites and to my surprise i was back on full colour internet a bit slow but all there and no connection charges as the dial up is free on this old sim card. Question 1 . is this GPRS if not what is classed as 2. if not GPRS whats the differance and can i get it on my phone. still amazed at this phones performance Dave
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Hmmm could you navigate around the sites!? Or were it just the same sites you had tried before in its memory!? If you have a G in a square on your homescreen top, GPRS is available with your sim card ... and I would think that you were using GPRS traffic! But I don't know the english contracts .. so not sure! One way to make SURE if it's GPRS is to check your top right corner when you try and browse those sites again, if you see a small G instead of the 'mast' right about your signal bars! Then it is indeed GPRS!
Guest terminater2_uk Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Have an old genie myself. Yes its full access through wap not gprs. Dunno the technical side of things but yeah its totally free on genie, been using mine since December.
