Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I changed my home screen from Orange 2 to Full, and I swear my battery life has now improved dramatically. In addition, the phone has DEFINITELY sped up. This is not logical, but seems to be the case. Can anyone else try this and see if they have similar results? P
Guest pibrahim Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I've read elsewhere several reports of people saying changing from one of the Orange layouts to the generic MS ones speeds the phone up a lot.

P Yeah i done mine a few weeks ago and since then it has been alot better. I must say i did not think it would make a difference tho? The battery on the spv is very odd. sometimes its great other days its shite
Guest rikmartin Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Hi, I tried this after your suggestion in the thread I started. Does seem faster.. I'll agree Not tested battery life though
Guest sch Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Just as an aside on the thread, I charged my phone up about 18 hours ago - and after a few phone calls, probably 15 mins in all and some SMS's it's still showing 3 bars! Hopefully this might mean that battery life improves after a few charges.
Guest MBoden Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Strange thing, i live a long ways from an Orange station and when a home my phone changes network very often and as far as i can tell the phone light up the backlight when it changes network, it could explain when my battry life at home is worse than at work. Oh, and battery life also seem shorter when i keep the phone in the beltpouch anyone else noticed that ?
Guest sch Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Oh, and battery life also seem shorter when i keep the phone in the beltpouch anyone else noticed that ? I think you'll find that the button's press against the case, which keeps the backlight on so you end up with a drained battery
