Guest zubo Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Rather than hijack a general thread, Ive started a new one here. Chris Benjaminsen created an excellent article about how to use Windows Media Encoder to create a profile and encode for the SPV. That will create an optimized wmv file. I need a similar howto for pocketv movies. I tried using the encoder to create the optimized wmv, then running the output file thru EO video to create an mpeg. Pockettv failed to recognize the file though and would not play it. Anybody help please???
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Go to one of the threads started by Pocket TV, they offer a link to their own tutorial. I've had success with using their settings/programs! I'll see if I can find the link for ya!

Guest zubo Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Sounds like you downloaded a corrupt zip. Thanks to the original poster, I have used TMPGenc for a few years now for conventional avi/wmv to mpeg and forget about it. The app is excellent. Now to specifics - download the zip again from TMPGenc site and simply unzip it into a directory - I call it c:tmpgenc. Look at what you have a structure containing c:tmpgenctemplates as a subdir - goto pockettv and download their alltemplates.zip file and ensure you unzip into the templates subdir. Now, you only really have 4 templates for smartphone, and you need to follow the pockettv tutorial/instructions EXACTLY until like me you understand what is happening. Follow their instructions and it works. Again: thank you to the original poster for a brilliant suggestion.
