This may explain some problems I am getting, however:

If I activesync, explore to my sd card then drag n drop a file from my desktop, it will copy the file to the card. I can then usually load it into the app say wmp to try to play it - at least wmp says it can see it. If I try to play the file its vanished!!!!

Anyone know what is going on???

my desktop is playing up too .... trying to type this and it stops ... can virus attack the phone???

one more question: on the card what does lock/unlock do???

Hmm haven't heard of a smartphone2002 virus YET...

So you place a wma file on your storage card, run it with the media player, and afterwards it's gone!?

lock/unlock means you can lock your card, so you cannot delete or add anything to the card.

No and the lockunlock is there for security. if you have it set to lock

you will not be able to write anything to the card.

EDIT Sorry for repeating MoRFleZ your post was not

there when I replied :?

This is a known SD card problem. There have been a few topics on that. Basically the phone stops seeing card untill you reinsert it. If you try reading card from SmartExplorer then you see loads of gibberish. I believe this problem occurs due to Windows Media player and I have not had probs since stopped using it and switched to PocketMVP. At the same time I had my 3rd SPV replacement, so that might have been some hardware fault in somee SPV batch.

I can report back that now I have switched lock off that all is ok and I CAN store files on the card.

Also I have managed to format the 8MB card
