I personally thought that the book was really good and is definately the first of the new era of HP books in that it was a lot darker and a lot of questions were answered. Its a scene setting book for the final two years at Hogwarts.

What do you think?!

As soon as my missus has finished reading it I will let you know, I think she's only got a few hours reading to go.

I said good, but not the best, although I think it's not really valid to compare them.

This book was significantly different from the preceding books in the series in that it changed from being so much about Harry potter the boy at school to having him mature significantly. The book barely even talked about his school life and quiditch etc which is a huge change from the previous book.

I think if the remaining 2 books are anything like this it will provide a very good finish to the whole thing.

Anyone else feel the last ~100 pages were decidedly 'rushed'.

Overally a completely different book, not sure if she's done the right thing, guess we'll only know when the NEXT book is released.

I liked it quite alot, although it was quite predictable. As soon as it was announced there was an "important" character being killed off most people knew who it would be.... Another thing was, there was no "Scooby Doo" like BIG twist
