I noticed that the phone only has a receive IR port. But when I downloaded the smart explorer, I see the send & receive option. But when I tried to copy wav files to another SAP it wont work, saying file not found. What I do is highlight the said wav and push the option to send via IR. Is the SAP really not capable of sending via IR?

As long as the other phone is set to receive you should not have a problem.

I've managed to send wavs to a 7650 but no luck with other files to other devices i.e. pics/films to laptops. Anyone know how to get IR working correctly?

Pictures to T68 works fine

Files to laptop is a tricky one. But I once managed to send a file by AllExplorer that SE was unable to IR.

I have posted this in another thread, so apologies for repeating myself, I never did get a response :)

I've managed to send files to phones and laptops without any problems, but it doesn't seem to work when receiving files. If my memory serves me correctly the message on the laptop read that "the smartphone is actively refusing to accept this file" or words to that effect! I tried with various files including music and contacts. It makes me think that IR has to be enabled, but then would it have been able to send files?

Any ideas?

I've had no problems recieving files on the SPV, this is what I did.

To send files from a laptop (running XP, although should be similar for other versions of Windows):

On the SPV go to Programs and select "Infrared Receive" (can't remember the exact default location, I've moved my shortcut).

The SPV will show "Looking for sending device(s)...".

Point the SPV at the laptop's IrDA port.

XP will pop up a bubble saying "Another computer is nearby".

To send the file either single click on the IR icon that has appeared in the system tray and use that to navigate to the file, or find the file using Explorer and right click, selecting "Send To / A nearby computer".

The SPV will ask for conformation to receive the file, and will save it in IPSMMy Documents.

Use any file manager to move or use the received file.

Voila!

Yep, thats exactly what I did, but my phone didn't want to receive anything and I got the message that I mentioned previously :)

The laptop was running XP by the way!

My Smartexplorer doesn't stop receiving, even when all the data has been sent across :)

Just a thought - do you have space in your IPSM folder? Maybe the SPV is refusing due to lack of space?

Also do you get this problem with all files you send? Have you tried to send a small .txt file (with only a few chracters in it)?

Hmmm! Good point, I haven't got a lot of memory left, perhaps it's that I'll have to check. Cheers
