Guest malloc Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 A new small update is available : Download Page - Added a small keylock feature (menu settings -> keylock, when locked you have to press the '2' key to unlock, all other keys are ineffective) - Pause the music play when focus is lost (incoming call, etc... but there's no background music play anymore -> it was buggy anyway) - Patched the small Screen Saver/ Backlight problem, it now (like the Alpha04) resets the power management settings to 10 Sec / Turn Off, on PocketMvp exit -> for those who use screensavers, or leave the screen on, don't use this version, you might need to reset your power management settings each time you exit PocketMvp :? Sorry about that... malloc
Guest jim80b Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 emmm this keylock.... great idea as i use music videos to sooth my crying toddler (who likes pressing action) but how do i get it to lock while playing a vid??? can u assign it to a key (have looked in reg but no setting) thanks
Guest greg7901 Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 d/loaded and installed but it says its not a valid windows ce app why?
Guest skimask Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 you might need to de-cert your phone mate, further details can be found if you search the site
Guest drblow Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 I can't seem to open any files! Everything was fine with previous versions, but now when I open an audio file i get the 'failed to open. Check memory...' message. I have mp3's stored on 64mb SD card, with about 50mb used. I have tried taskmanager to free up memory, but still no joy. Any clues out there??
Guest jim80b Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 umm, how do i advance to the next in my playlist??? the help says press 6.... but thats fast forward. tried redefining Nextkey in the reg to 120 (#) but no success any ideas anyone.
Guest madu Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 well, keys are hardcoded so registry mapping doesn't work AFAIK. Can't answer your question though :) Malloc is releasing anew ver sometime soon (again AFAIK) and that will have MP3 bug fixed
Guest Malkie Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Hi. I have downloaded pocketmvp from msmobiles and accessed the file on my desktop with winzip8.1 I have only found a couple of jpeg files, a skin file, and a zipped application file that zip8.1 wont open any of except the setup file which launches me into a dead netscape webpage. Is this still available and if so do you know of an easy way to get this onto my Samsung i600. I have already installed pocket tv with no problems. thank you. MaLkiE
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 How would I re-encode a DivX to play on PocketMVP?
Guest casperr Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Link is broken indeed I hope this version fixes the backlight problem. My backlight would turn off while playing the video even if I choose backlight on. mulloc, i really like this program above anything else. Is there any way you can add sound boost or something like that which is present on Pocketmusic program but wont act up like it? It can already play ogg files and some bass would just make it perfect :)
Guest goinnuts Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 JOEJOETHEJOEY you try this link it is excellent.
Guest matd Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Well can anyone host or post the file for the PocketMVP update as the original link (http://www.angelfire.com/alt/spv-soft/) is down and has been down for sometime by the looks of it. I don't know about anyone else, but i've never actually been able to play any DivX at all using PocketMVP_SPV or any other app on my SPV E200 for that matter! :-( Even when i try the small test divx file that siu99spj creates in his tutorial, every time i just get "Wave Open Error" Error in Audio (They all play fine on my PC by the way). After that error the program pretty much locks up and i have to go back and kill it as it just sits there on a blank black screen eating memory! Does anyone actually test programs like this on the actual devices they're intended to be used on before they release them or do they just hope for the best!? :-( According to the version on my phone, it reports 'About' that i'm using version : PocketMVP Version .8.041303 SmartPhone Port Beta 3b Is this the latest version? if so i'm screwed as it just doesn't work :-(
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 JOEJOETHEJOEY you try this link it is excellent. Thanks goinnuts! :) @matd: that's the same version as I have. I haven't been able to play anything either, but that maybe coz I haven't got any files encoded correctly yet. :D Gonna give it a try later.
Guest maxh2003 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Hi matd You can find a partially-fixed EXE for PocketMVP at http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=96943 . You should find that the Wave Open Error no longer occurs. But you will also find that you can only play one file between phone reboots - attempting to load a second file in PocketMVP causes it to hang. Still, it's good enough for me to watch half-hour TV programs on my phone - rebooting after each one never inconvenienced me that much. Does anyone actually test programs like this on the actual devices they're intended to be used on before they release them or do they just hope for the best!? Well given that PocketMVP is freeware I think we should just be grateful for what we've got! For instance, malloc must have taken ages to port it from the PocketPC version; I know it took me a few hours just to make the patched version in the thread above. Everyone involved in producing PocketMVP and the original PocketPC version gave their time away for free. If this were paid-for software then it would be fair enough to complain that it's not perfect and has x/y/z bugs. Given that you got it for free, I think it's a case of "if you don't like it, write something better yourself"! :)
Guest scott2eyes Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Does anyone actually test programs like this on the actual devices they're intended to be used on before they release them or do they just hope for the best!? I don't know if it's the reason it's not working, but bear in mind that the program in question was released before your phone...
Guest JOEJOETHEJOEY Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Does anyone know which encoding program will let you select a specific audio channel to encode and ditch the other? I've got some dual audio VCDs which I wanna try to encode, but they've got both audio channels and I can't select a specific one on the MPx200. :)
Guest rh0926 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I downloaded PocketMVP and loaded it on my MPx200. In the about dialog, it gives the version as .8.041303 Smartphone Port Beta3e. When I run the program, it opens fine. I then click on the right action button (File) and select the Open | Audio File option. I'm then presented with a screen that has 'Select File....' as the title and as the only option. There is no file structure that I can browse and select the files. Same thing happens when I try to open a video file. If I choose , it takes me back to the main page. Any idea on what I can do to open a file? Do they need to be in the same directory I installed the application?
Guest casperr Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Just a question for those using PocketMVP, I know equalizer works on mp3 files and I was amazed but can the equalizer work on ogg files as well? Or its only for mp3s?
