Guest Pagemakers Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 So what's new in the 1.5 update - any of the following? 1 - Delete all emails/sms? 2 - Sms counter? 3 - Multiple email accounts? 4 - Change to alarm program? 5 - All menus have numbered shortcuts? 6 - IE supports frames?
Guest Palindrome Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Is there any evidence that the people who make the SPV updates actually read the posts in the Wishlist, or any of the forum posts for that matter? I suppose the contents of the 1.5 update would be a good indication of this.
Guest madu Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 AFAIK-answers and predictions: 1 - Delete all emails/sms? NO 2 - Sms counter? YES, but still buggy 3 - Multiple email accounts? NO 4 - Change to alarm program? NO 5 - All menus have numbered shortcuts? This is planned to be a requirement/implemented on OS level in SP2003 6 - IE supports frames? NO. NO.
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 It updates the software "about" page to 1.5!
Guest Deemon Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 It updates the software "about" page to 1.5! LMAO... thats about what most people are expecting......heaven forbid we might actually get something useful...
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Then T9 must be remembered correctly now, right?
Guest Dylan Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Then T9 must be remembered correctly now, right? I remember when I was optomistic....those were the days... :) Seriously though, does 1.5 do anything interesting?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Don't forget it ~is~ only a point update, minor bug fixes and updates. Incidentally, the Red-E SmartPhone build has had a working SMS counter (properly, fully working, all messages, all contacts) for some time now, 2-3 months at least. My money would be on a fully functional SMS counter being part of the next update.
Guest Dylan Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Pardon my ignorance but, Red-E SmartPhone build?!? What's that?
Guest smartphone-web.com Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 That means the ROM of the Red E (Compal) Smartphone from the Dev Kit.
Guest Dylan Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Oh! Ok, thanks! :) In that case it can't be hard to put it on an update for us normal type people then, can it?
Guest Firaas Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Oh! Ok, thanks! :) In that case it can't be hard to put it on an update for us normal type people then, can it? You aren't Dylan the little kid from the Orange adverts are you? He is ANNOYING!
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Bleedin hell. If Orange got their finger out we would be on update 3 point something by now. Another good reason why the updates should be provided by MS, not the phone operators, but that's a whole new discussion!
Guest Pagemakers Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 ....and I guess 1.5 also fixes the "GPRS Dialling" sticking issue as well?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 I haven't had it since, but apparently another user has? P
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 MS do provide the ROM updates btw, the carriers then add and tweak them to include any software they want to include and various other tweaks specific to their network...
Guest Dylan Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 You aren't Dylan the little kid from the Orange adverts are you? He is ANNOYING! No I'm not! Damn kid stole my name!!!!!!!  By the sounds of it this update doesn't do too much.
