Guest nickcornaglia Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I'm without an SPV until next week and someone asked me a question that I can't answer without the device in my hands. Does the Smartphone sync ALL of Outlook's contact information or just some of it? Does it leave any fields out? He asked this because he said it seems the emulator version does not sync everything.
Guest fraser Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Probably. It does all the ones I've used, like the various home/business addresses and numbers, birthdays, aniversaries, web site and so on. If you fire up Outlook, open a contact and select the "All Fields" tab, then finally select "All Contact fields" in the drop down list, there are a few that I've not seen on the SPV. It may well be that they aren't sync'ed at all, but it could just be that the SPV doesn't display them, e.g. if they aren't relevant.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 If the SPV doesn't display them, does it still store them? If I created a contact on outlook at home. Then sync'd with my spv. Then sync'd with another pc. Would the information that is not visible on the SPV be sync'd over to the second PC? If anyone could tell me a definite answer, I would truely appreciate it. Thanks for the response fraser!
Guest madu Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Try it! That's the best definite answer. (yes I know you havn't got it on hand) My experience shows that it sometimes f**** up syncing even the fields it is supposed to (so some contacts on PC outlook are just blank). As to other fields - AFAIK it should and the non standard fields show up under contact. But don't take this as a definite answer
Guest fraser Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 You could also use the dbViewer thingy to take a look at the db file itself, to see what is stored there.
