Hi people!

I just arrived (safely) here in the States two days ago.

Now's my chance to test the SAP in foreign soil.

So far, I've had NO SUCCESS trying to log on to a New Network with my SAP and my SMART pre-paid SIM (64K) which I activated for Int'l Text Roaming just before I left NAIA.

I went to Programs/Settings/Telephony/Networks and selected the Menu Option to "Find a New Network". I get the message "No Network Found".

Could anyone help me please? Is there anything else I should do to log on to SMART's Partner Networks/Carriers here.

Pakitanong naman ito sa SMART o ... please!

Mabuhay kayong lahat!

I believe the telephony settings need to be on the PCS band.

"telephony --> band selection."

Thanks for your reply. I got it to work by changing the Band to PCS.

I got my SMART Pre-paid SIM to work (on Int'l Text Roaming).

Then I also got my T-Mobile SIM to work. As far as Telephony is concerned, I don't have anymore problems.

I just got my 256MB SD card from CompUSA today. The brand is Lexar and it costs only $50 ... wow. :)

I'm trying my first movie on it now ...

I'll be back last week of September. The $50-256MB SD card was on sale only up to June 28. Kaya nga sinunggaban ko na, I bought three pcs. agad. I wanted to try one first, but I had just one day to do it.

I'm watching out for the "fourth of July" sales here ... might get them even cheaper.

So far, I have encountered no problems. I have loaded 3 VCD's into it (2two encoded with WMEncoder and one encoded for PocketTV).

I also installed PocketTV and PocketMVP into it. No problems too.

I am now looking into the "tweaks" I could do with the SAP, like storing music files in the SD and using them as ringtones from there.

You know, when I show-off my SAP to store clerks at different electronic outlets here, they are just SO AMAZED!!! Nokia 3650 pa lang ang bagong labas dito.

Mabuhay!

I too am getting a Tanager E100 (direct from PI) this Thursday 7/11 and will be using it under Cingular in the Los Angeles, CA area. I already have the SPV and it works great but wanted the updated Tanager because of the better display and the joystick...Will let everybody know how it turns out.... 8)
