Hey people,

I always find im going over the sms limit, is there a download that shows a counter? it sucks because i have to count 160 characters! lol

There is no SMS counter - there was apparently a buggy counter in one of the non UK updates, so we maybe lucky and get one in the next (yet to be announced) UK update.

One of the notepad applications (Orneata I think) does have a char counter and will send SMS, but won't do phone book look-up. Search the Software Catalogue to find it.

its the #1 main annoyance about the spv...such a simple thing yet they didnt include it

(and a free GPRS counter, and a easy way of deleting all SMS messages, and a way to stop the phone saving all Sent SMS messages, etc, etc)

I have found a good way a guesstimating this. Generally if you don't go off the page, and cause scrolling... then you are averaging about 140 chars

After adding your contact, the char counter will go away!

If you type any number in the "Cc:" field .. it will come back though. So just type 0 in the Cc field, then delete the 0 - and voila - you will have a char counter!

Edited: Also - Paul made me aware, that if you select a contact through the desktop (right softkey) it will add the number to the "To" field - not the name. And the char counter wont go away in the first place!

*smirk* ... same counter we have ... well ... buggy counter - but it works ... sorta!
