How do you make an underscore without the keyboard

Is the 1 button on the phone the only one that can bring up characters? Surely there's a way to do an underscore without using the keyboard. Bit of a necessity for email addresses!

Hold down the hash key (bottom right) to bring up the symbols list :)

even quicker way might be to set up a quicktext.

Go to inbox, options, predefined text.

Then you can do it in future with two quick clicks.
