Guest Pagemakers Posted June 30, 2003 Report Posted June 30, 2003 Is there any news reader software available for the smartphone?
Guest gradiation Posted June 30, 2003 Report Posted June 30, 2003 Workin on it mate, should be with you by next week.
Guest gradiation Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Damn it, i knew one of you would hold me to it :) I kinda have a workin demo so i'll try and release what i have so far later on tonight, if it appears buggy then u know why. I'll post up here when i sort it out.
Guest gradiation Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Ok, so here's what i have managed to make. Check out www.xstreamed.co.uk u'll need to register and untill people have submitted a few feeds into the relative categories the best bet is to add your own. Quickest way to do it is through the web then just sign in on your fone and it'll be there for ya. Still in development so just keep me posted of any errors. Hope this does the trick for ya
Guest gradiation Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 DOH! Spoke too soon, doesn't seem to be workin, your should be able to register at least so sign up and i'll keep u posted
Guest gradiation Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 Nope i'm wrong again, seems to be workin, just try it out and let me know how it goes fo ryou
Guest idavid Posted July 7, 2003 Report Posted July 7, 2003 sorry to sound foolish but how do we add streams?
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 On the page that appears after u log in, it should say add stream at the bottom, then the screen will be in 2 sections, just use the bottom one for now pasting in the url u wissh to add and choosing a category that best suites it.
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 In categories "miscellaneous" is incorrectly spelled.
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 hehe, thanks fella (english never was my strong poitn) :)
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Updated the mistake pagemakers. It would be good if you could leave some feedback as to how usefull and userfriendly it is. I will be developing things like paging at a later date as well as using hot keys to get to specifc stories, plus back and foward buttons.
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I get an error when trying to submit a stream. Site seems slow. I thought you were going to write an actual news app for the smartphone. That would be really cool. So far - can't get it to work using my streams.
Guest Wiseguy Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Mind my ignorance, but what exactly is this app. Cheers :) TRUTH IS LIVING, THEREFORE CHANGING --- BRUCE LEE
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Many news site offer an rdf news feed so that people can add up to date news on there own sites, or when used with a news app allows the user to have all there news stories in one place. What i have tried to build is a site where SPV viewers can store and view there RDF feeds in one place, that is also minimal keeping down GPRS charges. This was users can have login and have there news stories all in one place. Good idea in theory especially what with the hi GPRS charges, however it sounds like people want an actuall peice of software rather than a website, so how succesfull it is, is up to the general user.
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Pagemakers can u post up the url u are trying to submit then i can use that and see why it won't work. Cheers
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 err I am trying gradiation. The page takes ages to load (even with ADSL pass through). When I finally connect I get ASP 0113 error. Script timed out. Maybe you are working on the site as we speak.......
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 I just tried to add alt.cellular.ericsson Error:80004005 /addStream.asp, line 64
Guest gradiation Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Ahhh, i see, we seem to have a different interpretation of a news reader, if u read the description of what mine does you'll see what i mean
Guest Pagemakers Posted July 8, 2003 Report Posted July 8, 2003 Read where? I see no documentation anywhere.....
