Cannot send/receive MMS on SPV

I have the UK Orange SPV (Contract). Everything works fine except MMS.

When I try to send, it tries to connect via GPRS then gives a "Failed to send message, message stored in Drafts folder" error.

I think my settings are correct - I haven't changed anything as far as I know.

Any ideas?

Beaky :)

OK, found out I have to activate seperately. Sorry all! Good Forum!!

No doubt there'll be more dumb questions from me! Such as - What does the 'film cartridge' symbol in the very top left of the screen mean?

film symbol = spool of tape = answerphone message

Has MMS ever worked for you ? Remember the Customer Services must activate MMS on you account before you can use it.

If you don't mind I will steal this thread.

I activated MMS when I had my Nokia phone and I was (still am) on the Vodaphone network. I never checked if I actually could send MMS but I assume I could.

I now have unlocked my spv and still using Vodaphone can access all services sms, normal voice, voicemail, email, icq (not fully tested).

But like the guy who started this thread MMS returns the same message and puts my MMS into the draft folder and (I think) when the phone is switched off and back on again promptly loses any messages in the draft folder (a feature ??? LOL).

Anyway, elsewhere in another forum are postings of Vodaphone settings for MMS, but the only reference to MMS on my phone is in Accessories | MMS setup, and here the settings seem to refer to MMS options rather than how you actually setup mms with a url, user and password.

So could some kind soul please please give me the steps to use to enter the settings which have been posted.

Many thanks

Can you post the Vodaphone MMS details that you found and I'll re-arrange them for inputing into the SPV. That way we've got a record of them.

OK Zubu, this is how to use those setting in the SPV for MMS.

Create GPRS connection

Description : Vodafone MMS

Connects to : Orange MMS

Access point: wap.vodafone.co.uk

User name: [email protected]

Paswword: user

Settings - Accessories - MMS setup

First field: Vodafone MMS

IP: 212.183.137.012

Port: 9201

Mmsc Address: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms

I would try sending and receiving an MMS to yourself first.

Let us know how it goes. :)
