...it would be a dream come true. A mouse connector for an optical travel mouse. Smartphone Office. More memory - faster chip. Easier speakerphone. But the stylus capable screen is still tops!

I think you've missed something that smartphone is fundamentaly about. It was never designed to work with a stylus. If you want a Microsoft device with a stylus then you want a Pocket PC phone edition. Smartphone 2002/2003 will NEVER have a stylus because it is fundamentally designed not to.

In fact all the suggestions you have made there are what MS are keeping stricktly PocketPC. As spacemonkey says, the idea behind SmartPhone is that it has one handed use (eg no stylus...).

I like the one-handed idea, but need better text input capability. the pocket PCs are just too bulky. I need somehting that is primarily what the smartphone is with that extra added bit... maybe i mised the idea, but it's what would work for my use.

I see what you want... but you need to be clear that what you are asking for is a small PocketPC Phone Edition, in a similar package to the SPV but with a touchscreen. This is something you could oneday get... for instance devices like the Neonod N1 (which may or may not exist)

Where as if you ask for a Smartphone 200X device with a touchscreen then that is something which by definition you can not get.

Have you thought to buy a keyboard?

~£50 from www.ora.co.uk

Keyboard would be great - looking for one - but I can only find the soft ones - anyone know where to get a regular hard keyboard for the SPV?

Nothing official yet...(soft keyboards are the new black it seems...)
