Guest Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Hi, Can't find anyone else with this problem in the search so I thought I'd post it :) If I copy some songs to the phone (MP3 or WMA, SD card or phone) it doesn't play them in the right order. When you explore to the card it displays the files correctly - i.e: 1. track 1 2. track 2 etc but WMP will have something like 14. track 14 3. track 3 which is really annoying. Had a look though the options but can't see anything to reorder tracks. Any ideas? ta
Guest midnight Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 as far as i know (and i could be wrong) i orders the tracks in the order you copy them over, which is a bit dumb i must admit
Guest Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 yeah, tried copying one at a time - and a folder at a time etc but no luck. Still scrambled. Ah well, maybe it's a "feature" :)
Guest Gorskar Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Use that playlist creator tool thats knocking about somewhere.
Guest Josbee Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 after you've copied the files to your phone create a new folder. then, one by one and in the right order, move the files to the new folder. this should do it...
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 In WMP, there's an option in "Menu" then "Settings" then "Shuffle" I guess if this is ticked it will play them randomly :?:
Guest flotulopex Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Here is a way to create a simple playlist. It is the shortest file I could make. Fisrt, I copied all the music files to the SPV's Storage Card. Best is to create a directory dedicated to these files but, in fact, this is not mandatory. In my case, the files are stored in:"Storage CardMusic". It will work with MP3s, WMAs and other files. With Notepad, on my PC I edited a file (i. ex.:"Play-list.txt") and put the information below. In this example, there are only two ENTRIES but you can add as much as you like (I assume, I tested with 35 file names). When done, save your text file in the SPV somewhere you'll be able to find it (I put it in "IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories"). Finally, change the extension of your text file .TXT by .ASX. This will also change the icon and turn it into a Windows Media Player shape. Next time you click on this "Play-list.asx", this will start the mediaplayer a play all the files in the list. Flotul
Guest jhew Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I used to have this prob. It didnt matter how I copied over the files, be it one at a time, in batches, or all at once. Somehow they'd all play in the wrong order. The only way I've found to fix this issue is as follows.... Goto the orange developer site http://www.developers.orange.com/home/ unlock your SPV from there, and then use WMP9 on your pc to copy the files over to your phone. Worked everytime for me so far, and a damn site easier than having to move the files once they're copied over.
