Guest fateyes Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 A few days ago I noticed that Orange had reset my decertification and that obvioulsy none of my unsigned apps would run. I went back to the developers page only to discover it has completely changed and I need to register company details, etc... I can't find any news about this on this site? Anyway, I had been hoping to avoid the manual decert method because it sounds scary and I dont really know what i'm doing - where is the best most straightforward guide? Cheers, Fateyes

Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Just to clarify, as far as we have seen Orange have not, and have no intention of, re-certing any phones decerted using theiir developers site. If the registry is corrupted then (as with all windows distro's) it will be rebuilt on the next reboot. This will include returning it to its default certification lock on state. You can easily re-decert through the Orange OTA website if this happens. A little tip to avoid the majority of the problems, reboot after you install each app. Apparently, when you edit the registry it is written to the IPSM, and written back to its normal location when you next power down. If you modify it enough to "fill" the IPSM it will become corrupted and be rebuilt.
