Guest Crispy Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 I just bought a secondhand SPV. I inserted an Orange SIM-card and typed the PIN-code. But then it asks for a password. It can't be the SIM-lock can't it? ... Im guessing that its the security-code put there by its former owner, but how do I bypass it?? (If yes, which button is the voice memo button?) ... Will a hard-reset solve it? ... Activesync asks for the password too! What do I do? Help! :| :)
Guest martin Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 What exactly does it say on the screen when asking for the password.
Guest Crispy Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Well, its in danish, but I'll try translating: It boots up and and it asks for the PIN-code. I enter it, and it continues. It then loads the today-screen, but the only selectable option is "unlock" (lås op). Clicking that brings up a screen saying: Password The unit is locked. Type in Password and click the button to unlock. in Danish: Adgangskode Enheden er låst. Angiv adgangskoden, og tryk på tasten til at låse op med.
Guest Crispy Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Ok, I sent a mail to the person I bought it from asking for the password. So 1 of these 3 things will happen: 1) I'll get the pass = everything is ok! 2) Its a password which I should know already = I still need help finding out which number it is! 3) I don't get the pass = I need HELP! But please, post any solutions you might have anyway!
Guest mcwarre Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 Unless there are a lot of progs installed already try a hard reset nothing to lose. If there are progs installed worth asking the person you bought it from for 'backups' in case you do have to reset it....
Guest Will Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 hard reset will turn it off.... or you might get a result (its only 4 digits so you could try at 0001..) Will
Guest mcwarre Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 or you might get a result (its only 4 digits so you could try at 0001..) Will After you Will...... See you for Smartphone 3003 then :) ;) :D I take it that there is no '3 strikes and your out' then on this code???? Mmmm. Interesting. My old NK502 ( ) had one which required PUK if you got the phone unlock code wrong 3 times (not SIM code). Must admit so glad that this is on the SPV. Stop my missus seeing who I have phoned...  Ooops she reads this forum...... Only joking, o light of my life.
Guest Will Posted July 2, 2003 Report Posted July 2, 2003 I've actually got a brute force finder here, but you need to have already synced the phone (which will require the devcode).. so there we are SOL.. Sorry Will
Guest Crispy Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 ok ... I'll hardreset it then :) Update: Ya, It worked! Thanks everyone ;)
