Guest mantrac Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Its happened to me on a number of occasions when a call comes through and I can't answer it cause the SPV doesn't want me to (!!) so I was wondering who shares the same feelings with me from time to time...
Guest davy Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I have had no probs receiving calls. Only time I get upset with it is when the phone resets itself and I have to restore from back up. davy.
Guest jhew Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I had the good old problem yesterday of the phone not actually showing that someone is calling me. The only way I know they've called is when the answerphone icon pops up. Damn annoying, especially as when i go to test it from my landline i get thru everytime! I must admit tho that this is the first time I've had this prob with the phone since I got it (Dec).
Guest spacemonkey Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I've never had a problem with mine and I won't answer your pole because it doesn't have an option of 'Never, my SPV works fine for me' If your gonna post a pole at least make it so there are vaguely valid options for most users.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Never had any problem answering (or making) calls, or with any other normal phone functions.
Guest midnight Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 no probs at all, i thankyou very much and i agree with the above, cant answer your poll, i dont have a phone as a backup (well, i do have a spare phone here, a shitty sony j5, but never had any cause to use it, and i dont think i ever will)
Guest Dylan Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 grumble grumble...phone crashing...won't recieve calls...deletes texts randomly...moan moan...slow...locks up...T9 forgets words...blah blah blah........ It gets on my nerves sometimes (if you couldn't tell!) but it's ok. To be brutally honest though it's only the lack of decently priced good alternatives that's keeping me with it. And the fact that i told my girlfriend i wouldn't change my phone before the end of my contract like i always do! (8 phones in 3 years... hmm...)
Guest Crispy Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Where is the "Never! I love my phone and it has never caused me any problems"-button?
Guest Hax Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I agree with most of the sentiments above - my phone hasn't caused me any problems (post UK update 1 that is!) and I therefore can't answer your poll Hax
Guest bosshogg Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Maybe the poll should be "How many times have you felt like throwing the SPV against a wall when speaking to Orange Customer Services"... :x
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 In the interests of an unbiased poll (i am biased towards SP devices, mantrac is biased against, so they cancel out ;p), i have added a "Never, my SmartPhone has no issues answering calls" option.
Guest Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I had the good old problem yesterday of the phone not actually showing that someone is calling me. The only way I know they've called is when the answerphone icon pops up. This may not be the SPVs fault - network congestion can sometimes cause this regardless of handset (it's happened to me on Nokias and Motorolas). You can be showing full signal strength but the network may be unable to connect the incoming call because so many other people are making calls, so the network bounces the call to voicemail and then sends you the notification. What's even more annoying is when you don't even get the voicemail icon! When I used to be on One2One it once took three hours for the network to tell me that someone had called, despite having full service (and making calls) thoughout! Oh well! P.S. - I agree with most of the above sentiments - I love my SPV and the only probs that I've had with it are either network problems (Orange's fault rather than the SPV) or because I was hacking about with it (my own fault really! ).
Guest Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 Fraid I get to wanting to hurl it at a wall quite often too! I get the cannot answer the call thing, as well as some other bugs. It's still a good phone, which is why I've stuck with it, but annoying all the same.
Guest looneyfitter Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 sorry to sound ignorant but im new to this, but what does spv stand for?
