Guest bigblade Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 I have just used my hands free kit today. I unplugged it and cannot hear anything on my handset now. I have tried restarting the phone and plugging and unplugging the headset but nothing seems to make any difference. On the profiles menu my phone is jammed on headset and won't budge. Ant ideas??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 3, 2003 Report Posted July 3, 2003 This is a known hardware fault :) Some suggestions have been to blow into the socket, plug the headphone back in and wiggle it about and also to try poking a cocktail stick in the socket. If all else fails the handset needs to be replaced under warranty ;)
Guest blewer Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 Place your headset jack 3/4 of the way in the socket. Now gently pull the plastic part of the jack downwards, (so the jack inside the phone points upwards). If you keep doing this you should see the profile switch back to normal. Wait till it stays on normal for a few seconds and quickly pull the jack out. You can also push the jack into the phone quite hard, this sometimes allows the profile to return to normal. Hold on normal for a few seconds and pull out quickly. Be carefull, once you have had this problem it's more than likely to happen again, so if you can help it don't use the headphones again. Or if you are covered by Orange care get a replacement phone. Take note that this is a common problem so it's possible this could happen on your replacement too!!! Let's hope not!!! Hope this helps Adam
Guest armand Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 It is not a big problem. Just put the socket at your mouth and blow as hard as you can. That'll do the trick for sure. I think that the problem can be cured by developing a fix which bypasses the auto-profilechanger, so you cab manually choose what profile should be used. Let's hope it will come soon.
