Guest howitzer_89 Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 how to make polyphonic ringtones instead of wavs?
Guest XGEOX Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 neither the spv or tanger have support for polyphonic ringtones, but both do support midis - but then why would you want some crappy bleepy noises when you can have proper audio? polyphonic ringtones sound awful :)
Guest howitzer_89 Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Well. yes it's very true but i cant use it (wav file) when its in my SD card and its not available when u want to use it in the contact's custom ring... unlike the midi ones'... i just want to use the in my ringtones... i have my wavs, mp3s, wma's in my SD card for the good music... care to help me out on this?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 As XGEOX said it's not possible. Unless you have a lot of large wav files why don't you keep the main ones on your phone if oyu use more than one different file?

I'd recommend three choices: - select your best wav ringtones (and compress as much as possible) and store them on the phone itself :? - store all of your ringtones on your sd card, and use that registry trick to get the phone to play them off the card rather than the phone :) (you can do a search for info on that) - use midis instead (which suck) ;)
Guest howitzer_89 Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 k... thanks anyway for all of that... :)
Guest schriss Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Well I disagree about polyphonic midis - I once had Nokia 7650 and they sounded GREAT, I really miss them. I also think it would be possible to write a software synthesiser for Smartphone which, with good wavetable, would play poly midis better than any phone ;-) But I'm not a programmer, anyone?
