Have you tried reading the advice here on Unlocking with the new update?

Step by step instructions here

If you are desperate to downgrade the whole software version then you might want to try the trick mentioned on coolsmartphone.com

Those who did the Denmark Update

Now - for you naughty people who did that Denmark update on UK-spec SPV's earlier this year. Tut tut.. :) The nice new UK update doesn't appear to work does it ? Well, luckily Chris (CJSNet) has come to your rescue! ;) Here's his instructions on how to get that UK update. Big thanks to him!

Don't forget to backup at least the IPSM first. Try this:

1) Attempt the update once.  This will place a file in your SPV's Windows folder called DeviceData.txt

2) Close Setup when it fails and copy DeviceData.txt to your PC

3) Edit "DeviceData.txt" using Notepad and replace just the text ORG_DK with the text ORG_UK (you can leave the version number as is)

4) Set DeviceData.txt as "Read Only" by right-clicking and choosing "Properties" - IMPORTANT!

5) Copy it back to the SPV's Windows folder and agree to overwrite the

old file

Now run the update Setup again and it should be accepted.  This is because the phone is unable to overwrite the DeviceData.txt file due to its read only status, and so it skips that step and just reads it.  It then sees you have a ORG_UK phone, not DK (DenmarK), 'cause you tricked it you crafty bugger.

I accept no responsibility for anyone trying the above - but it worked for me. You may have a minor issue in that the language settings are a bit mangled - the only way around this is to go to either try the "fix" instructions here or visit your local Orange shop and get the OS flashed.

Wehay! :D Thanks Chris!!!!

Obviously you will need to do some slight modifications to these instructions to suit whatever update you are attempting to apply.

If that doesn't work then you can try the DK1 update, which is on http://www.monolithix.org it is an old update, but it should install, and it has a previous version number, so any later updates should install ontop of it (maybe with help from the trick quoted above)

Hope you find something helpful in that pile of ramblings!

Put it in the 3-colour Canary MV screen and rerun the update (make sure you kill of Activesync first).

Don't worry if the updater loads it. Make sure your phone is in the Canary tri colour screen (hold record and power on, then leave it for a few seconds). Plug it into your cradle and run the update.
