Guest martunk Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Ok guys, i've just purchased an SPV on ebay and its due to be deliveryed 2moro. I have a couple of questions tho.... 1] How do I know its running the lastest update? 2] Where can you download updates? I'm on Orange Everyday 50 contract at the mo so can I subscribe to any gprs services? 3] I know they scratch quite easily so are their any 'weak' areas of the phone I should be looking into. I belive dust under the screen is one? 4] It comes with a 128mb card, so do I install/run apps from there? Or do apps run from the phone itself. Ok, thats me done. Also is there any 'most have' games/apps I should get? Its got a 128mb card with it, if that helps.
Guest davy Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 1.Programs/Settings/About. 2. http://web.orange.co.uk/spv/ 3.Look after it and you will be ok. Dust under screen seems unavoidable on some spv's. 4.Install to storage card where possible. Enjoy. :) davy. Edit Oh and welcome to the forum. All your questions will be answered here (but not normally by me ;) )
Guest davy Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Check out http://www.monolithix.org/ for some great apps and games. Also check the forum's Software Catalogue. Almost forgot, GPRS bundles start from £2 for 1MB. See http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ht=gprs+bundles davy.
Guest davy Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Sorry for the patchy response (a busy night) , 2 must have apps are Task Manager and Smart Explorer. If you sign up to MoDaCo Plus you can then buy Smart Explorer and get Task Manager free. :) MoDaCo Plus is only £24 a year and you will not spend a better £24 imho. Apart from this benefit you also get 10% discount on all apps and games for your spv at Handango and Smartphone.net plus many other benefits too numerous to mention (plus you are also helping the forum get better and better). davy.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 3]I know they scratch quite easily so are their any 'weak' areas of the phone I should be looking into. I belive dust under the screen is one? Another favourite is the connector on the bottom, it always gets scratched going onto the cradle, which is completely unavoidable. To protect your phone I can recomend a case from http://www.freedom-mobiles.co.uk/aspv.htm>Freedom Mobiles. (review on CoolSmartPhone http://www.coolsmartphone.com/index.php?option=articles&task=viewarticle&artid=8&Itemid=3>here.) More info on the benifits of MoDaCo Plus http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=54779>here. Welcome, and enjoy!
