Guest davy Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Just wondering how many people will actually buy the new SPV E100. :?: From what I have read on the forum I do not think the benefits justify the cost. I will be waiting for the Mitac Mio, or an even better new smartphone, to be released before I ditch my beloved SPV. :) What do you guys/gals think? davy. P.S. 1st attempt at a poll, hope it works.
Guest vijay555 Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Yes: bcse i got free spv upgrade whilst waiting for tanager : need new contract v
Guest NederSoren Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Depends.. If Orange DK is givin' it to us SPV owners cheap then yes.. If they only give it to us a little cheaper.. Then I'll rather wait for SPV2 :)
Guest jhew Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I probably will, but only when my current 12 month contract expires in Dec/Jan. There'll probably be another smartphone out by then tho :). Besides, I'm happy with my SPV for now.
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I love my SPV, plus i'm still in my contract till dec, when i'll probally get the 'voyager'. Besides the E100 isn't as pretty as the spv.
Guest martin Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 There's still plenty of life left in the old SPV yet . After all it runs the same software and has the same issues as the E100. I think I'll keep my money for the next wave of smartphones. The Mitac Mio is very tempting ?
Guest Crispy Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 I'll wait for something with a more powerful CPU (over 200mhz)! ... argh! This thing needs overclocking!
Guest Dylan Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 I can't really see the point. If I had got my SPV SIM free then I'd probably sell it to pay for one but I didn't so I won't! I know that the phone market seems to work in waves (no new sets for ages and then loads at once) and my contract isn't up until January so I'll take a look at what's available closer to the time. Come on Orange, show us your 3G phones!!!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 I'll be waiting for the Mio's successor i think. Besides, my contract has another 5 months yet. I can wait :)
Guest strathclydezero Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 I see no point in upgrading until I can get a phone with much superior features. Bluetooth would be a big selling point.
Guest Myke Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 wheres the "Yes, I already have one" option
Guest davy Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Tried to add your option Myke. Didn't work. If a Mod wants to add it feel free. davy.
Guest ChrisJM Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Well i just ordered mine from the Orange website ;) but my SPV is staying in the family, i sold it to my brother :)
Guest Vector Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 Sorry last post was by me :? my brother logged in as himself
Guest xanadu Posted July 14, 2003 Report Posted July 14, 2003 I can't place a reliable vote, as their is no option for people waiting for their 12 month contract to expire so as not to be charged upgrade fee. But what the heck...I will vote anyway, as I want to see the results so far
