Guest torres4tx Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I tried going to Http://wap.myvoicestream.com - the site I was told in order to get to t-zones. I can get to the internet just fine, but cannot get to this site. I'd like to make t-zones work - anyone done this before? I searched and could find others with this problem, but not the solution. Also, what is MMS? And what is the difference between WAP and HTTP sites? :? :) Thanks, T
Guest martin Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I tried going to Http://wap.myvoicestream.com - the site I was told in order to get to t-zones. I can get to the internet just fine, but cannot get to this site. I'd like to make t-zones work - anyone done this before? I searched and could find others with this problem, but not the solution. Also, what is MMS? And what is the difference between WAP and HTTP sites? Have you tried wsp://wap.myvoicestream.com I would also try and access other WAP sites using the WAP connection. For instance wsp://www.google.com The way the SPV seems to work for the end user. When surfing the internet, HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) pages require a WEB browser and WML (Wireless Markup Language) pages require a WAP browser. The 'Internet Connection' gives access to HTML and WML pages using HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and the 'WAP Connection' gives access to WML pages using WSP (Wireless Session Protocol). When the 'auto detect settings' is ticked in the internet explorer then it will use both Internet and WAP connections. If 'auto detect' is unticked and 'Select Network=WAP Network' then all WML pages (with HTTP or WSP in address) will be attempted using WSP. Sometimes this is the better option when accessing WAP portals etc. MMS is Multimedia Messaging. Goto Programs - Inbox/SMS - New - MMS. Here you can create and send a message containg picture, text and sound to another mobile user who is able to receive it (or it can be sent to an Email address). Makes good use of the camera. MMS is another GPRS service the the network provider may have to activate.
Guest torres4tx Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Thanks for the detailed information - MMS is working fine. I cannot get the WAP sites to work - seems to have trouble finding the sites. I will try again in the AM.
