Guest Crispy Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I was searhing for some SD card reviews when I found this threat about SD card benchmarking: http://www.kvpug.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t...ght=vfs&start=0 As many others I thought that a SD card ... well, thats just a SD card! But it looks like I was mistaken ... Looking at the scores on the above link some of Lexar & Kingston are almost 3 times as fast as pretec, dana, and Sandisk. Just to name a few of the benchmarks posted ... They are benchmarked using this piece of software here, which, before you ask, is not for smartphone! The test are, as far as I can see, run on a Zire71. Anyone know there a similar benchmarking software for smartphones?
Guest Simon Desser Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 I agree about Lexar being miles faster than SanDisk :) Heres something I posted recently:- BTW, I recently bought a Lexar 512mb SD card, and it's FANTASTIC ;) Using a high speed USB2 card reader it is Sooooo fast :!: Testing with a 26mb album of WMA's:- SanDisk - Copy to PC = 20seconds Lexar - Copy to PC = 6 seconds :!: San Disk - PC to Card = 60seconds Lexar - PC to Card = 7 seconds :!: I love it!
Guest Crispy Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Found this at the Simpletech website here: 256MB and 512MB cards have a Fast Sustained Write Speed: 10MB/sec 256MB and 512MB cards have a Fast Sustained Read Speed : 10MB/sec This card should be able to handle your album in 2.7 sec .. :)
