Guest drees22 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Are there different types of midi files? I have downloaded several online, and my SPV won't use any of them as ringtones, barring one, which I got off coolsmartphone.com. I know midi format isn't popular amongst many spv users, but they're the closest I can get to the soft, polyphonic sound that I used to get with my Old Sony J70 :) Whenever I use wav files for ringtones they sound like they're coming from a cheap, tin radio  any advice would be appreicated, thanks
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Moved to H&A. This has been covered in great detail before, and a search for "midi wav" will give plenty of results, i'd do it myself, however i'm too tired :/ Basically the SPV can only handly midi0 type files, badly, and no others. If you want polyphonic then use one of the tools suggested from the results of the above search to convert to .wav :)
Guest HelloDave Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 The MIDI support on the SPV is very limited, but one guy did create a couple of good sounding polyphonic tones. I can't remember his name, but they're in the customization section somewhere; try searching just that section for "polyphonic MIDI".
