Now, to actually use these....

Let's concentrate on one first : GPRS access to the internet, with Pocket Internet Explorer, ok? Should be the easiest.

Go to Programs>Settings>Data Connections. Click Menu (lower right), and chose Edit Connections. Click on GPRS Connections. Menu again, this time chose Add.

You are now about to add the GPRS connection to the internet.

Type "T-Mobile GPRS Web" or somesuch in Description

Selects Connecis to "The Internet".

Add the appropriate settings from above in Access Point, User Name, Password, and as you can see, you can leave both DNSes blank, as well as the IP address.

Click Done (lower left) until you are back in Data Connections, the first option of which (at the top) is Internet Connection (can you feel home just over the hill?).

Choose the T-Mobile GPRS Web connection you have just created for Internet Connection.

Click done until you get back to the homescreen.

Start Internet explorer.

Surf.

Came back and tell us how it went.

Do not be surprised if in the meantime this thread has been moved to Help & Advice.

Good luck, double check all the settings, and don't be discouraged if it doesn't work straight off.

Do be aware that T-Mobile GPRS is charged at 2p per KB, which means it'll be VERY expensive. It's already the highest priced in Europe AFAIK.

An MMS bundle will set you back £20 and includes 10mb of GPRS traffic. Expect prices to drop before the launch of the SPVx

Also expect T-Mobile staff to deny the service exists, and that you may need to have it enabled if you havn't do so already.

:)

The number is +44 7953 968999. Create a Dial-Up Connection instead of a GPRS connection. The rest is the same.

You're welcome. I'm enjoying the experiment in how long this thread can survive in Main :)

OK, have scoured the site for UK T-Mobile settings ... have tried the slight variations given, and none of them are working.

T-Mobile have activated GPRS on my account, the G symbol appeared.

Now after setting up the settgins, all that happens is "Dialling" then "unable to connect ... make sure you have network coverage"

Please somebody help, suggest something.

Does anyone here have T-Mobile UK working?

I have put these T-mobile setiings together from snipets of information on the web but please note that I haven't tried it as I dont have a T-mobile contract SIM. Let us know if you have any success with it.

When you have completed the setup, try accessing both addresses

wsp://www.t-zones.co.uk (to test the WAP connection)

http://www.modaco.com/mobile (to test The Internet connection)

Good luck

I am on T-mobile UK, Pay as you go. I have already entered the settings posted by martin but it did not work. Is the settings different if you are using pay as you go?? Can someone please help me to setup GPRS on my SPV E200.

Thanks

The settings on contract and PAYG are the same. I've got a T-mobile PAYG SIM and it worked for me the last time I tried it.

Do you get a top centre G displayed on the phone when it's switched on ?

yes i do, but it just says "connecting" and then after a while it says "unable to place call".

It could be either the network or the phone.

Try deleting all existing dialup, proxy and GPRS connections

Use the OTA Internet setup HERE and WAP HERE

Goto IE and untick 'Auto detect settings'

Use 'Select network: The internet' and then try 'Select Network: WAP network'

Try and access www.google.com with both and note what errors you get.

tried both,

both say "unable to place call" :?:

any other suggestions??

It sounds like a network problem.

Do you have any other phone try GPRS with that SIM ?

i tried my t-mobile sim in a SPV and entered the settings and it didn't work. i then tried an o2 sim in my e200 and entered the o2 settings and that didn't work either. But the o2 settings work in the SPV.
