Guest netsuccess Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I've found someone who can get software to put Lotus Notes calendar and mail on SPV without unlocking the unit. His name's Ollie, [email protected]. Neat.
Guest PaulN Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 you're avin a laff mate! It's great software, use it on my iPaq. Waiting for the beta to drop in my mailbox any minute :) edit: forgot the URL
Guest Rob_Quads Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 They have not actually released the version to run on the smartphone.
Guest Devil Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 As an unfortunate Lotus Notes user at work YUK!, I wouldn't touch it with a barge poll, red screen of death haunts me regulary, as do other spurios errors - badly written, clunky bug written software...oh yeah it looks crap too! If it's the same muppets who wrote the NT version then....run away....run away... Probably being very unfair, but Lotus Notes stinks.
Guest flashfodder Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 A bloody awful product... Error's all the time! Anyway... why would you want it on there? :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I've found someone who can get software to put Lotus Notes calendar and mail on SPV without unlocking the unit. His name's Ollie, [email protected]. Neat. You mean you've found yourself :)
Guest PaulN Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Probably being very unfair, but Lotus Notes stinks. I've never had a real problems with Notes, what version have you had problems with 4.6 or R5? PS. the above software is now installed and working great :)
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Are they still looking for people to test this beta on?
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Just volunteered by email. We'll see if they bite...
Guest yatpeak Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 You mean you've found yourself :) How do you know that they're the same person? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Because he's looked at the web site for NetSuccess's profile... Nice one, Awarner. :) I missed it completely. Still, I'd like to Beta that!
Guest swanseastu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Well I sent a PM to this copany on Friday showing soime genuine interest. We use Notes r5 at work, and it would be great to sync my SPV with firstly and most importantly my calender, then contacts, then mail. I had an automated reply from the company but nothing else :-( I was hoping this was on the cards caus eIve been waiting for it. Ive tried the MS Oulook adapters, but whilst just about working, slow and crash my Notes machine to the extent I cannot use them. PLEASE PLEASE give me a chance to try or test your software Stu
Guest PaulN Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 PLEASE PLEASE give me a chance to try or test your software Give Ollie a ring on 01332 368500 and he'll sort you out. I've had it a few days now and it's pretty good :)
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 The software is available for trial.... And it rocks! Way better than Activesync on Outlook! I`m buying this one!
Guest Rob_Quads Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I have got it bit having a bit of trouble with it. Is it possible to sync only the Calender and not all my notes? For some reason it did not install the docs :)
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Fire up the mNotes app on the phone, and scroll down to whatever you don`t want to replicate and just click twice to toggle replication of that item.
Guest Rob_Quads Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Yeah got that - only problem is the phone is setup with the wrong IP for ths server :) Trying to work out how to change it once its installed.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Oh, right. The IP setting is in : Menu>Locations>Edit Current>Basics>Host
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 The documentation is not installed you are correct, (I suspect it doesn't exist yet ;) ) but the PPC version is available on www.commontime.com, and is quite easy to read and use. The only features that didn't carry over (yet, I'm hoping) are Journal replication and eBook replication. Presumably because we lack a Journal and eBook reader on the platform :) I'm in love with this thing! Checking for freetime to schedule meetings while on the go, full sync of my agenda on the phone, and the email sync functionality is superb. I've got to stop, before I sound like I work at CommonTime :D Only "bug" I've noticed is that when you add a new contact in the FreeTime database, the first keypress registers as a number rather than a letter, requiring that you backspace it, then type it again. A minor annoyance in a function you only use a handful of times...
Guest swanseastu Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Has anybody else tried an address book with tons of contacts, my Notes address book consists of 1700+ contacts, I have a gut feeling if I sync all these (which I would like to do) it might make my phone book very very slow? Another question, should I still sync contacts and agenda with outlook in Active sync or should I only tick the candenza box in activesync. Cannot comment on the quality yet, as Im still having some teething problems, depending on cost (how much ??) I will buy it if it works.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 That's a lot of contacts! l have third of that, about. Never had any issues and still don't even with all my mail. I've disabled Outlook as it is not my PlM but i don't recommend multiple sync from past experience.
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Has anybody tried to install the eval. version of mnotes? I have completed their reg form two times with two different email adresses, but they don't send me the email with the key you need for installing the eval. version. I would purchase this product for sure since I really need a SPV/Notes sync solution. But since I know tons of really crappy sync tools I will not spend a single cent before I didn't had the chance to evaluate.
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 I'm trying it now, and got the key with no issues. Why don't you send them a little email, they're quite friendly people.
