I'm getting a network denied in the service field does that mean it is sim locked?

No.

Simlocked phones with a SIM from the wrong network complain about the SIM, not about the network.

More likely, the SIM is dodgy (not paid up, or of the rare few that don't seem to work too well with the SPV, or in general, causing the network to refuse to allow it to communicate).

as seeing you live in the US, you're going to have to do this:

If youre getting the "Network Denied, searching..." error, DO THIS!

- go programs / settings / telephony

band selection and make sure you're on PCS Band

if you aren't .... change it to PCS and it'll restart

if it doesnt automatically find your network, go back into Telephony / More / Networks and choose your network!

I had the network denied message once. I reset the phone ( not a hard reset) and everything was fine, strange

Also if the Phone is stolen this message will be displayed.

This has happened to another member before.
