Guest jacoch Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 No big changes, but I added two new features: - Status page is updated every 5 sec if it is active and SP Task Manager has the focus. - The active page is updated when SP Task Manager is brought to front. Version 1.0.3 changes in a message below or on the web site. As usual, you can download it here
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Thanks again for your work :), any word on IR send and recieve for SmartExplorer yet if it isnt already...)?
Guest jacoch Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 A new version of Smart Explorer should be available tomorrow or saturday. It will include IR functions (tested between the spv and a laptop under XP and the spv and a T68i). So some bugs will maybe appear. It will also include a fix for the shortcut arrow icon that is not displayed correctly in current version and finally the Properties dialog will be available. Only the Find function will remain under development. It's not of big interest for english users, but I know some german ones read Modaco. So I'm pleased to let you know that both apps are actually being translated into german. As usual, I will post this new version on Modaco as soon as it is available on my web site.
Guest kevlar Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 This is a great piece of software I've used since the first release. Can I make a sugestion for a slight improvement?; Use number keys as shorcuts to the three main pages instead of View>scroll>select. I.E, 1 for application list, 2 for process list and 3 system status. If the above changes could be made it would just make the program slightly easier to use. Thanks again Kevlar
Guest jacoch Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Also thought about that. I will also use key 6 to refresh. Working on it. Should be available today.
Guest Richie M Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Jacoch you are Ace :) Thanks for all your hard work, keep it up.
Guest priccijr Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I have copied the program to my windows folder but it does not come up in my programs list how do you run it? Update: Nevermind
Guest kevlar Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Also thought about that. I will also use key 6 to refresh. Working on it. Should be available today. That's great Jaoch. Look forward to it. :) Kevlar
Guest jacoch Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 So version 1.0.3 as promised. The following changes have been made: - Added shortcuts on key 1, 2, 3 and 6 to switch view and refresh the screen. - Fixed a bug on automatic refresh of status. The progress bar were not updated. - Fixed a bug in progress bar. 2 pixels were missing when value was 100%. Link still the same
Guest kevlar Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Wow, I actually made a difference, and so quick  Great work Jacoch Kevlar
Guest kevlar Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Jacoch, is the registration up on the website now? Kevlar
Guest v1nn1e Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Is there a menu shortcut to "quit application" and "quit all apps". If not, this would be good as would save time because it is the most used feature.
Guest jacoch Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Jacoch, is the registration up on the website now? Kevlar Unfortunately not. I'm waiting important answers about distribution of both apps. So I can't activate it yet (registration will maybe be handled by third party, maybe even better news  ). I know it's a shame and hope having a answer early next week. If my contacs fail, I will activate the registration the same day. Sorry to you all for the delay.
Guest omar_g Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 jacoch, FIrstly, thanks for a fantastic set of applications! I use both of them daily. A quick question for you, would it be possible to intergrate an option into the menu of Task Manager to reboot/restart the phone? It would be very useful! :)
Guest madu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 ......and I found it that I sometimes want to switch to TaskMan or run TaskMan from SmartExplorer - any chance to have TaskMan in Explorer menu? Also - Format SD card function would be very appropriate in Explorer. GREAT SOFT!! THANKS JACOCH PS: Will register soon. Just let me get hold of those what're-they-called color papers....money :)
Guest Richie M Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 ......and I found it that I sometimes want to switch to TaskMan or run TaskMan from SmartExplorer - any chance to have TaskMan in Explorer menu?Nice idea m8, but that would asume that everyone has both apps installed in the same place :? and what would happen if they dont? - also you don't have this feature in Windows Explorer, so why would you expect it here? Also - Format SD card function would be very appropriate in Explorer. I agree with that one tho :)
Guest madu Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Very true on the first point Richie. But to be fair - everyone has both apps (why would you not??) Though I agree that was not the best thought - mondays....mondays... :)
Guest Eran Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 im trying to install the new versions of smart explorer and task manager and when i open the cab file it says i should 'set permissions' or something like that. What can i do? Regards Eran
Guest Shuflie Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 Just posted a new feature suggestion for task manager in this thread http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=35649 so I thought I'd better link it into the main taskmanager one as well. It basically boils down to giving the option of killing non essential processes as well as non-sys apps. It all came about because if you close all non-sys apps after running speedreader you also need to kill the speedreader process to get it to open up again. I've also just thought of a way of getting smart explorer to open taskmanager. Use a resistry entry for taskmanager to track its installation location and have it check that it is valid each time it opens in case someone messes about with their phone and moves the executable.
Guest madu Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 Or maybe kill application/process in a pair... O, and also use action key to 'switch to' an app...
Guest nickcornaglia Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Hey...nobody told me that there was a system resources screen on this app. Cool! Now I can delete FreeSpace. Nice.
Guest Deemon Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I have a small problem installing Task Manager I hope someone can help with .. Basically I tried to install the new version over an older one. It came up witha screen saying it would have to uninstall the old version...fair enough.. pressed ok.. said it could not uninstall the old version.... do you want to continue installing new version... I say yes....(bad idea) I had to pull the battery as the phone stopped responding , i waited 10 mins.... so anyway....i restart the phone and try to run it again and it tells me that it is unable to install on my device... im guessing its left something behind in the registry or a corrupt file...I cant actually find where the app is installed either.... any help greatly appreciated...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I presume (as you've been a member for so long ;)) that you have checked IPSMWindowsAppMgrInstall for the failed installation ? Apart from that the registry location is HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareBinarysSPTaskMgr As I'm not a reg expert (so I'm guessing here) I presume that you could just remove the Task Manager entry and then? reinstall Task Manager from scratch?
Guest Deemon Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 I hadnt no...I dont like deleting stuff from the registry unless im 100% sure I know its the correct key... Hence I did ask if it could be a registry setting hoping that someone like your kind self could point me to the right one... I shall go try that now, ill post back with the result...many thanks
Guest Deemon Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Nope still fails to install after I deleted the reg key..... doesnt look good for me .....
