Guest charnwood Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Does GPRS work as normal when roaming abroad ( obviously in a coutry that has GPRS activated) Thanks Richard
Guest Cent Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Would love to know that one too I am sure it costs a lot more ...
Guest pupton Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Yep GPRS does work abroad. Checkout http://www.orange.co.uk/services/orange_gp...gprs_table.html Charges have not been published as yet and was actually FREE upto the 5th December. I have not been advised by Orange regarding the correct charges but I did see that it could be as high as £10 per MB in Kong Kong and aroung £8 per MB in many other countries... Its an expensive hobby
Guest MarsBar Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Well, I can tell you that it didn't work in Denmark when I was there this weekend.
Guest benzo Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I used GPRS on both Orange France and SFR networks this weekend. downloading speeds were actually quicker in France than in UK.
Guest charnwood Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 i am travelling to south africa where i am told gprs is now available Looks like it would be better if only the phone could be unlocked and i get an MTN sim card while I am over there. :D
Guest Ult Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 >>MarsBar: Hmmmm... strange! Like lots of other danes live in (wait for it... ) Denmark! And my SPV seems to enjoy the GPRS here? Maybe the 'roaming' part of GPRS isn't quite as ready as one should think?? Just wondering. /U
