Guest Gunslinger Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Any idea on how to remove the supplied ringtones from the SPV. They are basically no good and removing them can free up valuable space. Thanks
Guest timmillwood Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Just delete them from >Windows using active sync Make sure you backup them before deleting just think about when you sell the phone on.
Guest Presser Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 You can't just delete them as they are protected! unless I am doing it wrong... I am opening active sync and browsing until I find the ringtone files... highlighting them and then clicking delete... but it will not let me...
Guest Rolandrat Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Pure guess work here, as I waiting for my SPV to turn up, but could the files have properties that make them read only and therefore not let you delete them - therefore can you change the properties? As I said pure guess work as I have never seen a SPV (Yet!)
Guest Presser Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I have had a look at this and yes you are right in one respect they are read only... but you cannot change the properties as the files are stored in the ROM (read only memory) I pressume this combats any virus problems in that the files cannot be overwritten. So in answer to the first question I don't reckon you can delete them.... so be careful what you do with your memory! Store things on the expansion card where you can. I have about 5 movies now and there is still loads of room...
Guest Bazz Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Yeah, but if they are in the ROM they aren't taking up any useable space so there is no need to remove them!
Guest Presser Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Well there you go then that's that one answered then.... leave them alone !
