Ruber Cover ???

Has anyone else noticed the little round rubber cover on the back of the phone. I am sure that is for a car kit external antenna but Ornge siad there is no car kit for this phone.

Has anyone else heard anything about a car kit or know what that little round rubber is for (I like saying that... little round rubber)

If you pull off your rubber :D bit you will see a connection point for what would seem to be a car kit cradle connection.

Nokias have a similar kind of connector so this is what i would imagine it to be

This is definitely the standard connector for an external antenae. Even though there isn't currently a car kit they include this on all phones so people could create a kit if they wanted to.

Maybe someone could build some crazy ugly aeriel and plug it into this to improve their signal?

HELLOOOOO!!

It's a NEW phone. Surely if they haven't got this lovely toy (which is great) itself working properly and hardly anything has been developed apart from the basic product SPV and few betas and demo progs (certified).

So surely this is a CAR KIT AERIAL connection (or just an ext. aereal) that will be released by Orange sometimes soon (we hope) alongside with some important bugfixes

hello, i think the rubber is maybe a connexion as you said, but also a brake for your phone. It makes more stable on surfaces, specially when they are slippery. I think it's a detail but that will save some spv hits on the floor....about connexion I cannot say.... :roll:
