Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 I now have a Voice over Intenet Protocol USB phone mainly to call New Zealand with so I'm looking for a cheep service provider. The cheepest I have found so far is www.voipvoice.com at 3p a min + vat but as I'm a cheep skate I'm wondering if anyone has found any one better or cheeper? I know I can get free calls via pc to pc with msn messenger but i'm after pc to phone connection so I know it will cost
Guest fraser Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 What what what?? Paying for VoIP? Are you mad? :) Set it up yourself. With VoIP, you connect directly to the person you are contacting over the internet. Why would you want to pay a service provider and get billed by the minute? Hell, just use MS Netmeeting. Also doubles as a video phone.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 Yes but I also want to call people who do not have internet access so it would be a call to a land line. This is where the charge comes from. Or is there a way you can do this leagaly for free? PS yes I am mad :)
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 There used to be a service that would allow you to call the UK or USA with VoIP for Free, but they started charging for it after a while, and it was crap, they kept thinking it was a prank call (56k modem didn't help).
