It is on the top of the screen in line with the signal strength but on the left hand side. It is similar to this O_O.

Not sure what it is, and it is not shown in any of the literature I have.

I have attached jpg that may explain more.

Any ideas :?:

it's a tape, and indicates you have a voicemail waiting!

Now that was easy, we like that!

It means you have a message on your voice mail.

Another omission from the instruction book by O.

It's a known network bug, the way to clear it is to either receive

another voicemail ar get Orange to reset their end.

Oh and when you ring them, don't bother accepting the 'we'll send you a couple of sim updates' idea..

They do this EVERY time (been about 4/5 times). and each time i wait 10 mins ring back and they 'try' turning the symbol off and on their end.. which always works...

This happens when you hang up before the symbol has dissapeared after pressing 3 to delete the message. If you wait a few seconds after pressing 3 you will see the symbol dissapear. If you want to get rid of it, phone yourself, leave a message, delete, wait and it will be gone.

i'll try that method next time.. thanks for the info!

Also, if u dont listen to the FULL message and hangup in the middle it doesnt disappear. My brother accidently dialed my number THREE times only to leave a FULL LENGTH blank message on each occasion. I had to get thru all those EMPTY messages before the tape symbol disappeared(grrr).

Since then ive asked my him to remove my number from speed dial.

I managed to clear it in the end. Left a message on the phone listened to it then deleted the message :!:

No symbol :)

Thanks for your help

btw, you don't need to get someone else to phone you and leave a message - just phone your own number and leave yourself a message :)

Is the SPV already set up to notify you of voicemail when you're not connected to Orange, or do you have to set it up manually, as I have never had a voice, message, but I'm sure I would have had one by now.

Thanks,

Wyatt

I shouldn't require any additional set up, but the easiest way to be sure is to give it a go - leave yourself a message and see if it notifies you.
