Guest mrs29 Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 hi, m not a programmer so i really need help from you guys if ever any of u guys are bored and feel like doing a program, could u make a software for restarting the phone? so that resetting the phone will be much easier than having to press the power off then on again... better if we could add it to speed dials to make it much easier.
Guest midnight Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 hehe, i wouldnt wanna press that speed dial by accident. This has been mentioned before, but one thing confuses me, why do you need a restart? restarts arent required for software installs, and the only time i've had to restart is a couple of my reg tweaks require a reboot, but normally i dont think its necessary. My phone goes for weeks without one.
Guest fraser Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 LOL midnight, I'm rebooting mine right now as I type. :) The install for the latest & greatest smartexplorer required it.
Guest midnight Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 yes, true, but seriously, how many times is a reboot required, and why is it so necessary to save about 3 seconds
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 I reboot mine all the time... but that's cos I've been developing and generally those reboots require removing the battery :) But seriously in normal running mode, I NEVER need to reboot it.
Guest mts Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 true but then i restart my phone often becuase it usually hangs wen i do alot of stuff and after a long time that it has been running, the phone gets slower and slower wid all the running programs.. much like a computer i guess
Guest Gorskar Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 What you need is the task manager, available here Use it to close all the apps running in the backround, or to switch between apps. One of the most useful little apps on my phone!
Guest muude Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Have to agree with Gorskar... Blaming the reboots for severe cpu usage can be solved by using task manager...
Guest mrs29 Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 thanks gorskar i tried the app u suggested! works like a charm! thanks alot for ur suggestion!
