Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Hi i got my SPV last week, and tried to use the camera, everytime i look at the viewfinder on the screen, the picture, is always dark, and when the picture has been taken and transferred to the computer, it still remains the same. I swapped it with another camera but again i still get the same problem. Has anyone else had a problem with dark pictures?? Could it be the phone and/or is there any software i can get to improve the brightness when i take pictures for the phone. I examples of other people getting really good quality pics, and me not having the same it annoys me
Guest benjymous Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Is it always dark? As the camera has no flash, it will always have problems indoors, unless there is plenty of light. Try taking photos outside, or in a well lit room, and if it still comes out really dark then do do have a problem
Guest Richie M Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Indoor pictures need to be in a fairly bright room it seems.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 well i've only tried indoors, but not outside, but when i was indoors i was under the light bulb!! i even pointed the camera at it, it still had dark shadings on the picture
Guest fraser Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 The human eye won't notice the difference, 'cos it automatically compensates for darkness. Indoor light is way less than outdoor, even if it looks the same to you. Any camera without a flash is going to have problems indoors. They are getting progressively better though...the SPV is better than my cheapy Blink SiPix camera.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 hmm fair point i will try it out doors, and see then. But in saying that now i can't i can't take indoor pics since it will be constantly dark...bummer
Guest larrylg Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Download the IA Album trial which allows you to make the picture brighter before you take the shot. It works well with the camera.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 it does?!!! where is that option?? great i left my phone at home, and took another one, can't test it, 'apparently' on another post you can record with IA album is this correct, if so how do you do it?
Guest Bazz Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 The latest version does record "movies" (badly - it's basically a series of photos). The Demo supplied with the phone isn't the latest version. Not sure if they updated the demo cause I bought the full version.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Yeah, but don't get it purely for video, because it's just not worth it. Wyatt
Guest jim80b Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 dude, check if your camera still has that little plastic film on the front. it darkens the pics loads!!!!
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 yeah i took the seal off the first time i noticed it. is there a demo version of the new IA album to test the brightness features, if so where can i get it?
Guest yatpeak Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I don't think so, just the one on the SD card. Wyatt
Guest Leggy Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 The problem of having a black screen when trying to shoot a photo in IA Smart Album is a problem I have now and then. My workaround is to change the orientation of the screen... when you're about to try and "Capture" a picture, just press the "0" button on your phone. This will change the orientation of your screen, and hopefully, like me, you'll be able to see something now, other than blackness! Press "0" again and you should be back to having the same orientation as before, but with something showing. Hope this does the trick. Should work in all the versions of the software - I have the new version now, but it worked with the old one too.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 ok i'll try that. i have taken pictures in 'natural' light and the pictures come out fine, but indoors with artificial light, thats when the picture is dark, but i'll try that method you suggested, thanks.
Guest casper508 Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 Indoor pictures do tent to be on the darker side but even then, I think it depends on the 'mood' of the camera. These pics were taken within 2 minutes of each other and see the difference in brightness/contract. I haven’t touched them up. They just came out like that. CasIMAGE_00138.jpgIMAGE_00141.jpg
Guest Goutetsuu Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 damn! i wish indoor pics would come out like that all the time, jeeze, orange should sort this out. on other phones such as the 7650 or the gd87, you don't get this problem, why us??
