Heavy usage of Pocket MVP - Problem...

I've encoded a number of films onto the Pocket MVP.

Last night.. I was watching the Italian Job last night and about 10mins in the screen went white.

At first, I thought it may be the file has become corrupt. But I tried a couple of other files & they all played white screen. I can hear the sound perfectly but the screen is white.

I also tried removing it completely off the phone and re-installing it. This didn't work either?

I don't understand what's wrong? Once re-installed, I even copied the Matrix Trailer back onto my phone in the knowledge this definitely worked. This to played white screen.

Everything works as normal except for the white screen.

Before anyone mentions.... It's not the screensaver.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

I've eliminated everything I can think of and I'm starting to think it's the phone?

I just checked it on my Bro's SPV. It worked immediately.

This pretty much means the problem is on the phone. I can't wait to explain this to Orange.

if u hav phm registry editor, try deleting the registry entries for pocketMVP

Go into local machine, then software then delete the whole pocketMVP settings.

When you run pocketMVP after this, it will recreate the settings and then trying playing the movies again.

I used this to sort out another problem i had.

I tried it but it didn't work.. Bit of a problem now! What am I gonna do on the bus to work???

Guess I'll have to read books till I get a new one?

Think I'm gonna try an IPSM reset, then unlock first.

If that doesn't work, I'll definitely have to call Orange

hehe, err, yeh, thats pretty much the reply you'll get from them :wink:

so, is this only while you are running pocketMVP? cos there is no way that orange will replace it at all if thats the case. If it is just pocketMVP then a hard reset will fix it i have no doubt.

Don't do anything drastic!!!!

I had the same (but it was a black screen)

Eventually I realised that pressing the 4 way action keys left or right (with the phone upright) adjusts the screen brightness when in the MVP player(from white to black at the extremes)

It might just be that :?:

I pointed out the most simple, obvious answer to someone regarding the menu's on here the other day.

Now the obvious is the answer to my problem. eye for an eye & all that. :oops: :oops: :oops:

I had to hold down the left button for about 15secs before a picture appeared.
