Guest Funkyberry Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Hi there... Erm, it seems to me, that all that phone is, is the the SPV Second Edition, or the SPV II. i.e the keypad has been made more useable, and the joystick looks like a joystick, rather than a demented nipple! Shame the screen wasn't on :D -funkyberry-
Guest bibon Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 I don't like it  I prefer the SPV!
Guest Bazz Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Still no integrated camera? Not much changes apart from tyhe keyboard (admittedly the worst thing about the SPV from a hardware POV). Wonder if it's much faster and therefore able to properly run Windows Smartphone?
Guest amo Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Got to be fake, has nobody noticed how much the joystick and other parts resemble a t68/t68i?! Seems to me like a clever photoshop job. Either that or another pointless fone released onto an already saturated market!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Not a fake... look at the URL - US government! P

Guest adrianfox Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Seems that they've done the sensible thing and added different LED flash patterns so that you can tell if you have nofifications waiting (useful when the screen is in power saving). Why couldn't they have thought of that for the SPV 1 ?
Guest th0mz Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 agree! one of the things i loved the most when i had my ericsson..... i too, was very surprised when i saw that the spv doesn't have this feature......
Guest Funkyberry Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Hi there... I spent ages trawling the dregs of this forum to find this post, but I finally found it... On The Register today, they have this news story: HTC, T-Mobile to launch Orange-like MS smartphone http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/59/28728.html So what do you think? Is this phone close enough to not be covered by Orange's exclusiveness deal thing with HTC? I wonder... Still, it looks far sexier than the SPV, and hopefully they'll have increased the size of the joystick.. -funkyberry-
Guest someone Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 woweeey that new smartphone looks pretty good! more designfull and nice colors. hopefully the battery will be better than the SPV.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 The battery, and indeed the internals, are identical to the SPV :D P
Guest Funkyberry Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Hi there... I was browsing a different site, and I found their report on it, and found that the photos ARE of the same phone... just a slight modification on the colour though... this one apears to be a metalic red colour on the underside: http://www.infosync.no/news/2002/n/2796.html -funkyberry-
Guest budda Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Would be nice if a new fasia was available for the SPV to make the buttons easier to press and offer other colours similar to the ones in the pictures. Even if the facias are a pig to put on for the general public, it would still be a nice possibility for people ready with a hacksaw :D
Guest Firaas Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Is it me or are the buttons bigger and more nokia-y (they look flat, easy to press)? By the way, I was flicking through http://shopping.numero.co.uk, and found this picture: It looks like the bit around the screen (possible the changeable cover) is a different colour to the one coming with the phone. Is that the camera or is it the actual colour?
Guest Funkyberry Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Hi there... I think you'll find this was a pre-production image? I've seen a few different photos of the SPV, with different colours... and I don't see anything that looks like its better than the current SPV - infact this looks more primitive... So I'm just assuming its an older phone. -funkyberry-
