Guest madu Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Right then!! Don't know where to put it - if no resolution will have to go to BugTrack... If you go to Inbox>Menu>Options there's an option 'Import messages from SIM'. Now I wonder why it is there in the first place.... but when I did that on the first day - nothing happened. Did that yesterday - guess what?! I received 4 messages (some of them like a week old) in my Inbox. I read(!) and deleted(!) them from my Inbox, restarted (on second attempt) the phone and I still get the bloody msgs when I go to Import from SIM option. In some mobiles (ie Sony Z5) there is an option 'Store msgs in SIM/Phone or Screen' - so I assume if it is sent from one of those and selected option is SIM - you get a message delivered to SIM, but there is no notification untill you actually go and select 'Import Messages'. Same happens when I send myself a message from www.O2.co.uk It will arrive (I guess) but I don't know it's thetre till I go and import the F$%^^ message - It pisses me off sooo much! Ever wondered why you don't receive a msg you were waiting for?? Anyone had the same problem?? Or is it just me???!?
Guest Will Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 I have experienced this problem on a Nokia(shh).. it was Only from certain senders, O2, a couple of web based sites. I think it's a bug their side. (does not seem to happen as much now) Will
Guest madu Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 That's what I'm saying - some senders do send messages of "SIM memory type" - as I said you can do it on certain phones (the one i had before was Z5. This stuff is well annoying since a lot of confirmations for ie web registrations are sent with this SMS memory type. (sorry for repeating myself) Workaround/solution?
Guest madu Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Sh*t!! I don't even know how to remove them from the SIM!!
Guest Bazz Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Yeah, just discovered 4 really old messages on my SIM. Not happy about that, but it does look like it's stopped sending them there. Barry
Guest madu Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 and now I went to mobile.msn.com and it is supposed to send you an SMS with confirm code - I don't get it at all. Not sure if this has got anything to do with this problem, but am very annoyed with me SMS situation. So far I could cope and bare all the problems with the phone - but this (not only this, really, but..) is pushing it...
